I wonder if international clients like me are affected by the social unrest in SA now.

I personally cancelled a punting trip to SA just because of that unrest and seeing all of these violence on social media. Was thinking of booking an airport hotel and having some fun.

It's really no effecting the Sandton, Rivonia, edenvale areas. It's more in the cbd and yesterday they attacked Newlands where we are based today's seems to be quite but we shall wait and see. Kempton Park has also been effect but I believe jeppe was the worst hit.

There are a few isolated spots where things indeed do not go well, but many of these are areas you would want to avoid under normal circumstances anyway. I cant think of anything bad in a radius of at least 50km around OR Tambo and many many great ladies in said circle!!! Even more that could be induced to come visit you there. Believe me I have been to many many continents and SA ladies rank up there there with Brazil, Italy and Spain ito % of yummy ladies!!

Dont know where you are from but would you advise me as foreigner to go to West London or Harlem? Each country has their "colourful" spots and so have we. Should you want extra adrenaline it can also be arranged, but from what I see as your need, go right ahead and book!!! You will thank me later!

We have two clients that have specifically requested security escorts as a result of the recent unrest. Both regular visitors to SA and who have never used such services in the past.

We didn't turn down the work, obviously, but I'll tell you that unless you are intent on visiting a few very specific areas there is absolutely no need to have a worry. You would be wise to have a person who is familiar with such areas escort you around even in the absence of civil unrest.

If you are considering a punting holiday you will not be visiting such areas.

I'm landing next week and I have to admit I've had similar reservations. Most people I speak to are saying that this is not xenophobia but rather an attack on drug dealing dens which for the most part are being run/fronted by foreigners. If you look at the areas that are blowing up, most are consistent with drug activity. As one person put it, for a nominal fee you can now upsize your chicken tikka with a side of cocaine.

Sadly I have time for just one punt while I am in SA, hoping it's not a washout.

It's been really bad for business we in the manufacturing field and Def has effected us.
