Almost R16 for a litre of petrol, R12.60 to the dollar, Water and Electricity up, VAT up, Income Tax up...Ladies, it's time to buckle up (yeah irony in your case, get it? Unbuckling belts) and hold the prices. If sh*t continues like this, hell you might have to drop the prices. Time to monitor your bookings and act accordingly i.e. reduce prices before someone beats you to it. Those extras, yeah, time to standardize them as part of your packaged deal.

I understand what you getting at but how much lower must we go.

My monthly expenses in the last two months have exceeded what I have made.

It's very scary... I for one could never complain about business... but if things go on the way it does now, I have to give up my house in December and search for a townhouse or flat... I could always pay my way without difficulty, but now I'm living on the breadline... no more extra money left... :(((

I already lower my fees when I moved to Pretoria in December... won't do it again... I'm now thinking if it was the right thing to do... Is it the area or the shit in SA that changed my lifestyle... ????

I disagree, if the price of everything is going up, shouldn't the ladies also increase their prices? In manafacturing, if the prices of the raw materials go up, then the prices of the end product goes up.

Punting is a privilege and a luxury item, not a necessity and commodity.

I agree 100% with Trashy, we can't lower our end prices with higher costs for us to deliver the same service.

Ultimately if there is less work in this industry there will be less girls for the guys to enjoy, as we will then make another plan and work at something else.

Rather support the ladies, so we don't look elsewhere for employment and income!

I always wonder when clients suggest that we lower our prices when the economy is bad, how they get to that conclusion?

Do you think that there is some secret society or code that we wg's live by that is different to yours? Do you think we get a special card like a pensioner's discount club?

We don't get cheaper petrol, we pay the same as you do for rent, electricity, a loaf of bread, school fees, doctor's etc. Our cost of living goes up just the same as yours? As does the price of condoms, lubes, essential oils, shower gels, wet wipes and sex toys?

And there is less disposable income so clients that used to see the ladies once a week are now only seeing them every second week?

We are all affected just as you are. Are you lowering your prices in your perspective businesses?

Exactly .. if the belt becomes to tight .. unfortunely have to cut on luxuries but punting have to be the last one ... Lol !!!

Alice, I fear what you are saying here is exactly what's happening now in the industry. I hear daily from various venue owners complaining about the scarcity of new ladies.

It's biting us punters in the ass also when we punt less as the ladies no longer see the benefits of being SP's if there's no money in it for them. So they go find another source of income. One lady even told me she's going back to waitressing as she made more money there.

F@%$#& scary thought for us guys! But we definitely have less money to go and play with than we used to.

I'm afraid we are still dealing with the repercussions of the Zupta empire. New investments into our economy are mostly on hold due to the land reform issue. Most other countries will not invest in SA untill it is resolved. They saw what happened to our neighbors with Uncle Bob so they first want to know their capital will be safe before they invest. We desperately need those foreign investments to boost the economy.

Still some tough times ahead I'm afraid.
