Can sleeping tabs and anxiety tabs have the opposite effect in narcotic recovery? I'm wide awake, even energetic but i need to sleep.

But you are going to sleep deeply and long when it kicks in...

How long have you been on them? Along with the meds you also have to cultivate good sleep habits. I went off some similar meds for a while but found the lack of sleep was just too much to handle and for the first few days I slept like a log cos I was sleep deprived. Then gradually the insomnia kicked in again. But with the help of a good friend I learnt some good habits and didn't need to up the dosage.

@Nadia, always avoided them but withthe anxietyand anti depression meds, my bodyis nuts, not to mention suffering from insomnia since I was a child. I have no idea what normal is. I sleep when im so exhausted that I pass out anywhere, anytime.

Ms. V, I have had a loved one come out of rehab a few weeks ago so I can sympathize. I don't know what the answer is but please be careful with sleeping tabs. If they are benzoids then you must understand that they are highly addictive. I hope not.

When do you take your anxiety meds? I am no doctor but I believe they should be taken in the morning and not in the morning. Not sure though.

If you are taking meds for depression they can take up to 2 weeks to have the desired effect. They will cause havoc with sleeping patterns during that time.

I sympathize with what you are going through. I have just had a med change to help with anxiety and stress related issues. The problem for me is that I fall asleep about twenty minutes after taking them.

I also have performance issues related to the meds so a bit of a catch 22 - be depressed and have an erection or be happy and not perform.

What I have found is that the dosage you take is very important, and can vary from person to person. I hope that it comes right for you.

Thanks guys. Best option is probably to speak to my shrink in terms of dosage etc. Its so complicated which is why I've delayed getting meds for so long. But everything you guys have mentioned seems right according to the package insert! relevant
