How often do we not want to know what a certain special person is thinking? Can they be trusted? We try to pick up on mannerisms, word choices, body language, timing of words, words vs actions, etc just to put the puzzle of some's thoughts together to maybe form a picture, albeit a monochrome piece of art in the end.

Why do we do this? Maybe I am generalizing too much... why do I do that?
I guess when someone really breaches the selfmade boundaries you have set, you question yourself as well as the "trespasser". Who knows... curiosity killed the cat, did it not? Patience is a virtue... or so they say.

In the end you will never really know. There are rarely confirmations. You believe, hope and trust that the full hd 64k picture you see, is the truth and not the monochrome artwork bent by mirrors and foil.

My preference in music is all over the show. The above took me back to a Peter Sarstedt classic...

You talk like Marlene Dietrich
And you dance like Zizi Jeanmaire
Your clothes are all made by Balmain
And there`s diamonds and pearls in your hair
You live in a fancy appartement
Of the Boulevard of St. Michel
Where you keep your Rolling Stones records
And a friend of Sacha Distel
But where do you go to my lovely
When you're alone in your bed
Tell me the thoughts that surround you
I want to look inside your head
I've seen all your qualifications
You got from the Sorbonne
And the painting you stole from Picasso
Your loveliness goes on and on, yes it does
When you go on your summer vacation
You go to Juan-les-Pines
With your carefully designed topless swimsuit
You get an even suntan, on your back and on your legs
When the snow falls you're found in St. Moritz
With the others of the jet-set
And you sip your Napoleon Brandy
But you never get your lips wet
But where do you go to my lovely
When you're alone in your bed
Tell me the thoughts that surround you
I want to look inside your head, yes I do
Your name is heard in high places
You know the Aga Khan
He sent you a racehorse for chistmas
And you keep it just for fun, for a laugh haha
They say that when you get married
It'll be to a millionaire
But they don't realize where you came from
And I wonder if they really care, they give a damn
But where do you go to my lovely
When you're alone in your bed
Tell me the thoughts that surround you
I want to look inside your head
I remember the back streets of Naples
Two children begging in rags
Both touched with a burning ambition
To shake off their lowly brown tags, yes they try
So look into my face Marie-Claire
And remember just who you are
Then go and forget me forever
`Cause I know you still bear
the scar, deep inside, yes you do
I know where you go to my lovely
When you're alone in your bed
I know the thoughts that surround you
`Cause I can look inside your head

So where do you go to my lovely, when you're alone in your bed. Tell me the thoughts that surround me, I want to look inside your head.

One of the coolest songs like in ever.

Shy

Everyone lives behind a mask, or layers of them. To peel them away and get to the real person is very difficult.

Especially when you connect with someone here, for the ladies here HAVE to live behind a mask, simply to survive.

So to peel that away, is not easy. Takes commitment and a truthful attitude. You will have to open up first, this opening yourself to pain and worse, ridicule.

This is not easy.

Best of luck

When you peel away the mask you remove the armour. People wear armour for a reason so to remove it is not a good thing. No-one can promise always and forever so it is best to leave well enough alone

Link above refers...

Thoughts and masks are truelly different things. I am not the same person at work as when I am at a braai, or with my loved one, in respect of armour. You do what is needed in the appropriate scene... for the selected audience. With the someone special, you trust them to be yourself, that they will protect your core self.

Yes, things could go bad, believe me I know. Past heartache teaches us what to look out for to avoid a repeat occurrence.
Don't let it stop you from something spectacular...

I agree Shy, past experiences are there for us to learn to pick up on the obvious, be it good or bad.

But if you really like someone, and you think the feeeling might be reciprocal, then tell them. What can you loose ? A little self esteem/dignity if your feelings are not reciprocated ? It is a 50/50 chance, yay or nay, (remember the back-up question : What about a BJ ?) LOL.

But be careful, in this world, money rules the roost. I heard someone says : I love you, get up and gave a tender kiss in public, yet following the money trail. So be careful, you need to know that the mask is lifted and you are talking to the real person beneath that mask.

#+ThoughtStart
Time is the only natural construct that we can't save, rewind or fast forward. It is therefore paramount that this commodity be used wisely. Patience isn't my virtue and I guess it has to do with the attributes mentioned of time. For now, I will make it my virtue, for the "long game" is worth a lot more than any short term gains.

This makes my heart ache that we so afraid to show our true feelings when the person is in our presence. When we holding each other and kissing passionately. Or in the aftermath of blissful sexual delights. Our thoughts and heart is overflowing with love for the person, we hold back thinking next time I'll say those precious words.

The weeks turn to months and you still afraid to share your feelings. Than suddenly the person is leaving and you think it's no point
now in saying anything. They're gone and you inconsolable and you consumed by this overwhelming loss and heartache. You start the
grieving process. Three years later, you still get a lump in your throat and tear up when hear from him. You both reminisce about the awesome times you shared. You finally express your love for each other. You wish to see each other but not in a position to make any plans to travel until probably end 2018.

Who knows what lies ahead, if we'll get that second chance to see each other. For those of you that have your loved one close by, reach out and grab that chance to be be with that special person. Do not procrastinate, do not be fearful. Love is the most amazing feeling and even if my heart breaks a thousand times, I would still take that chance to share my time with the person I love.
