My closest friend that abandoned me years ago to be with a guy I knew was dodgy has contacted me saying he disowned her when she fell pregnant! I knew it all along but didn't have the heart to tell her! Where to from here? I've become a social retard and don't have a clue how to respond!

Isn't the answer obvious? She needs you now more than she did before. And it has taken her a lot of courage to speak to you knowing that there is a good chance of being rejected. I would do the opposite, show her love, grace and forgiveness. :-)

Miss V -- you first need to decide how YOU feel about her. Life is hard and you can't save them all.

If you decide you have no hard feelings towards her, then I suggest you just pick up where you left off as friends all those years ago.

I just beseech you to be careful as not to be used. She must be sincere and honest. I believe you have the wisdom and life experience to tell if she is.

Sorry for my cold outlook, you said that "your life is predicted by the people that you love", love is a two way thing, do you get the same support when you have a crisis ?

Your life is number 1 to you, who else is going to meet your bills etc, you work a very tough job to survive and other peoples inability to organise their lives should be their problem.

Compassion is human nature, but your are not the solution to their problems.
