I assume this topic has been discussed somewhere.
But why are not more SPs making use of email for appointments? Its easy; its quick; its user-friendly; its probably the most secure form of communication - the advantages are endless.
We are in the 21st Century!
I would like to hear from SPs - why are they steering away from this form of communication?
I use email, but i like to speak to the person before confirming that the booking is accepted. I pick up nuances during the convo that i somehow don't pick up via email or text. (but thats just me).
Here's another typical scenario.....waitng for an app and he's already 15 mins late. Another client wants to come. I need an answer within secs. Is he coming/ is he stuck in traffic/ what's his ETA? With a phone number I can have my answer in 30 sec.

Nadia....I dont think anybody will send an email to let you know he is running late or stuck in traffic. Email is a great way to make contact and get rates, prefrences, "extras"...that sort of info sorted out. Not everybody can make phone calls from their place of work to ask those kind of questions...and prefer to use emails.
Taking into account that majority of punters are sutting in open space offices the booking via email or what's up or sms will make their lives easier...just my though.

I would be great for us working in open plan offices with ears all around.
My guess is its a time and safety issue. A popular wg will probably have limited time behind a laptop/tablet/smart phone to chat on email/wa. Time is $$$/15. Punters will get also get p-offed when she doesn't respond quickly which causes bad blood...
For safety reasons they prefer hearing a voice behind a number. Which I totally get, since there are some unsavory folk out "there".
In the perfect world I would've loved to talk to a hologram avatar of the wg/mg...
Simple rule with email; if you send email dont expect immediate response.
I dont get guys who use the excuse of sitting in open plan. FFS take a step outside, go to an empty meeting room, go to your car, or even the disable toilet.
Minime, that's exactly my point. If he's running late or is delayed how do I find out if he's still coming or not if I don't have a contact number?
I have to agree with you Mujahid. My last 3 telephone enquiries were 47 seconds, 2min 24s, 1min10s. I dunno how someone cannot get away from their workstation for 2 mins.
MrShyGuy, also spot on. I pick up on the person's Vibe/ energy. I always say there are certain things I listen for when talking to a potential client. Like right now I'm waiting for confirmation for a 3pm booking.....he's not gonna confirm cos he has no intention of coming ....picked that up from what he asked and more so by what he didn't ask. That was the 2min 24s call.

And you can also pick up someone's race from the convo...right?
