It doesn't sound all bad to me. In fact, in places like Dubai this could work well. Sure, the ladies might be having a drink and dinner with a FTW, but considering the cost of food and alcohol (which is not exactly cheap, coupled with the fact that ladies do have a choice, I do not see a problem.
It could also end up being far more pleasurable. In fact, it is a good business idea -- now why didn't I think of that before? Maybe someone did already... hmm now let me see, wasn't this Andrew's original idea with The Ranch?
Some clients have the desire (and the means) to make this happen. They enjoy (and indulge) in fine dining and are regulars at Cube and Mosaic. Others like fine dining, but due to budgetary (and priority) considerations are restricted to Five Hundred, Athol Place, Pachas and Signature. Some are happy with McDonalds or Burger King (surely we are not going to count the Dros and Spur fans -- they are in the multitudes). Expecting a sensationally awesome and hedonistic dining experience from the latter is akin to asking Valentina Dibella for a 5 minute quickie.
IMHO The Ranch eventually evolved into a Rodizio Grill because there were simply too few true hedonists. So, I would say that before we judge jackd14u's methodology, it would depend on the quality of the restaurant’s kitchen (and what comes out of it).
"Chemistry" is a very un-scientific expression, but I guess that we all have it (along with an understanding of the outcome, which is pleasure). So, if you are a Hedonistic Pleasure Seeker (HPS) and which (I guess) that 99% of guys (and many gals) on this forum are), it is not uncommon to combine the two.
Wiseguys typically dine at some really off the map places, like the little Portuguese restaurant in Rosettenville, the Italian gem that nobody knows about in Sunnyside and the amazing shisanyama place (not the franchise) near Bosman street station. Sometimes, in order to satisfy their FOMO, they try Roots or Mosaic, but they keep coming back to the places where they have the best experiences (in the true HPS style).
So, jackd14u, if your "chemistry" has a gastronomic inclination, then enjoy it boet -- personally I can't fault it.
