Have experienced the same issue with toys you can not fly with that stuff lol.. that knowing looks when I check in and it goes through scanner and then you get that overzealous one that will want you to unpack your stuff if you only have a carry on.. lol so I did not fly with anything when I started out my coastal trip that brought me to cpt...my personal stuff was first stored in Jhb now in storage here in cpt.. been to storage but damn to many boxes to be able to locate anything. So until I am in my permanent space those toys will stay where they are.
Have told them to buy and bring toys will even negotiate fee of service if they leave the toys behind lol but that has not happened ;)
