Had an interesting convo with a client last night.. he is on his way out... negotiating terms and he has 3 basic demands
1) keep his pention
2) his wife for vice pres
3) uminity from prosecution

Well.. I doubt that he will get 2 and 3. I worked for a Ramaphosa owned company in 2002, he wont negotiate coruption...

If he really wants 1, he needs to step down, if they need push him out, he will loose pension.

On when, probly by the end of the week.

Nikita at risk of hijacking this post for which I apologise. Be careful - you could one day get HIM as a client because he is needing a shower

I think it will be a parliamentary vote of no confidence on Valentines day.

1. Not necessarily, he is a very astute politician, a great chess player and has not yet played his last pieces imo. He will not resign willingly and it is very possible that he has lots of dirt on those who are calling for his head - he will use it to his advantage. (I can't wait to hear his public response to the recall letter, going to be a very revealing)

2. Parliamentary Vote of No Confidence - if secret ballot, then opposition (if they are clever) will vote with Pro-Zuma supporters to keep him in power, as that will show disaffected voters that "ANC" is still protecting Zuma, ensuring a possible 2019 win for opposition. But then again the opposition do not seem to be great strategists, so I guess they will go the route of voting for Zuma exit now, and in the process they will stand less of a chance to win in 2019 (if Ramaposa is allowed to start cracking the whip re corruption, uniting the ANC and attract investors), ditto if elections are brought forward as they have requested. If ANC manages to hold their own Vote of no Confidence instead, it can go either way, depending on how many of the voting heads will soon be on the chopping block as well wrt to corruption charges, if Zuma is axed.

3. This week still or early next week.

Personally I think the longer that Zuma remains in power, the better for the opposition come 2019.

Just read an interesting article that CR might not be our next Pres

The constition allow President only 2 consecutive terms. This would mean a 16mnth term and a 5 year term. CR might not want the 16mnth term and the ANC may appoint an intrim President similar to Kgalema Motlanthe before Zupta took office.

Interesting times ahead
