What is the worst that can happen if someone got a certified copy of my ID or passport?

As far as I know certified copies have a life span of 90 days. Thereafter they not valid.

But until the time limit runs out, just about anything can be done I'm afraid.

Identity theft is quite a big thing in the USA serious damage can be done I suppose we are somewhat lucky this side of the globe

*you left the country on flight Ek10910...ex ORT at 14h35 ...on 31st August'.
*you also was a passenger on Air Zimbabwe...which landed in Bulawayo on 31st August @ 16h00.
* you are wanted in London, in connection with the the theft of one of the queens horses.....no ignore that one...apparently the stable boy counted Camilla as one of her majesty's' horses.
*ABSA;Nedbank & Standard Bank...All want their credit Cards back.
* DSTV will be disconnected(at the house in Chatsworth) in 24hrs.

Nothing just do cr check in a few weeks time to make sure the are no accounts open on your name but even then I would not stress

Whats worst than Identity Theft is that you get locked up instead of the criminal and every day you get jumped/humped by your cellmate Bubba...

I was a victim of identity theft once.

Had my bank account cleared out in a matter of minutes, accounts opened in my name etc.

Luckily our banks are good and they assisted me in sorting it out in a matter of days without too much of a schlep, but the initial shock...Wow.

Don't think they ever got the culprits though.

Nowadays I'm paranoid about it.
