Fellow travelers

I forgot to take advantage of cancer awareness month to remind you to get your annual prostate cancer screening done if you are over 45 (biannual if over 40).

My cancer was picked up from a simple blood test (PSA) and it is essential that you do it annually because it is not the level that matters - but rather any changes or spikes and getting an annual level is important to work out what is "your" baseline.

Treatment plays havoc with your sex life (and that is why we are here after all). The earlier it is picked up - the more likely it is that you can return to a normal sex life. Seriously - androgen deprivation therapy (aka chemical castration) is ROUGH. Surgery to remove the prostate is getting more advanced - but if not found early enough, they may not be able to save the nerves and there goes your erections for life (unless you get an implant). Plus a chance of being incontinent and have to walk around with piss pads for the rest of your life!

So please, find a friendly urologist and start the screening routine to save yourselves some potentially horrible outcomes if the cancer is not detected early.

Prostate cancer is seldom fatal if found early enough!

Please add a colonoscopy every few years!

I had done the prostate stuff quite regularly...
But nobody told me to have a colonoscopy done!
So despite regular blood tests etc, never picked up that i had colon cancer. No symptoms ever - only the laat 3 months i had quite bad diarrhea. And surgeon said my cancer must have been there for many years given its size!

Fortunately for me, surgeon was able to remove everything. I did not even had to do chemo or radiation therapy afterwards.

But please check yr colon as well - there is often no warning till too late. If clean, i guess you can repeat every 5 years or so. But check it!

If I may add regular climax assists in keeping the prostate clear ;)

Kidneys and urinary issues can also be a sign that you might have a prostate issue when the kidney meridian is out the male sexual function will start going if it already hasn't and those are both sure signs to check the prostate.

Wow never thought my studies would be handy in the purple world.

Guys, my dad passed from advanced prostate cancer. It was caught too late, a result of being stubborn and not having regular checks done, and I can honestly say the last two years of his life was absolute hell!

I am close to 50 now and thank goodness I've been in the clear so far, will be scheduling my next checkup soon.

@Vrik, thanks so much for the heads-up bud, no-one has ever advised me going for a colonoscopy either. I will be scheduling one as well!

@Arwhen thanks, my drive is still very high so I do ejaculate myself daily. Hopefully this will count in my favour.

@2old2 This is an Excellent thread, thanks for posting!

All purple world guys of a certain age, pay heed!!

Much needed info.
What is needed though is prevention aswell. To also maintain a healthy prostate is to take a Prostate Care supplement daily from as young as possible. And believe me it works. The composition of Saw Palmetto and pumpkin seed extract and zinc not only works for prostate but in my case for skin cancer aswell.
It's a small price to pay every month for prevention.

Valuable insight Vrik

Frequency of climax DOES reduce the incidence of less severe disease - so keep pumping those orgasms out fellow travelers pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27033442/

I have seen no scientific evidence for any of the other advice (or products being pedaled (and I have read quite extensively).

Frequent climax does NOT "keep the prostate clear" and if you had a modicum of scientific knowledge you would not say stupid things. I have no fucking idea what a kidney meridian is - but if your prostate is enlarged you will have issues urinating. However all men's prostates get enlarged as they get older - so you need to see a professional and not a purveyor of woo to understand the difference!

Exellent thread indeed.

It definitely will help along with eating the correct food avoiding anything that may increase body acids such keeping your body phone balanced avoiding sugar as well as carbs which converts into the sugar once it's in the system.

Increased intake of blueberries pumpkin seeds and doing regular DETOX specifically Colon cleared and liver detox as that is where it all starts so to nip it in the butt before it begins. It's all about lifestyle.

Though we also need to Remember that this is very basic advice. One needs to pro take ones Doshas into consideration as certain food stimulate certain Doshas while others pacify certain Doshas while other agravate them. Same applies to blood typ. But that's one another level.

I can go on about this topic or anything health related and give plenty of insight but it is said that I hog the forum lol

Some cancers go in detected even with regular testing and are only discovered at an aggressive stage
