It would seem the students aren't budging on their demands, got me thinking what a great idea it would be if punters to tag along in solidarity lol.

On the real though, if all the corruption was to be dug out by the root and the money that's doing rounds in brown paper bags was to be accounted for, the idea of free education could become a reality, and some ladies wouldn't have to resort to this kind of business just to pay for their education, that should in turn increase the quality of the sp, assuming the ones who remain in business do so out of their love for adventure rather than money, the demand would rise and so will the rates, which would inevitably make punting experience a luxury only a few can afford.

Strange, Always at exam time these things happen , looks like the transformation of some of our well priced, liberal and valuable institutions is well on its way, oh well at least everyone is getting dragged to the lowest level, did not really want any competition for my job coming to soon anyway.. The only good thing is to remember is 45 percent of the learners can not pass the 1st year so they should enjoy themselves as soon they will just be classed as the unemployed ....

When your mother is a school teacher you are not poor enough to get Nfsas financial aid. The same mother can't get a bank loan because she has so much debt trying to raise other kids single handedly.

Do you know that Nfsas does not pay 2nd year fees if you managed to go through first year without them?

I got a weird solution link up sars income tax base to education systems etc. Charge a maximum prices according to whose paying student bills. Also open a sub comitee drawn from lectures,admin people etc and people involved with upgrading educational institutions. Also allow donations from lectures,all people involved monthly and create a magazine or newsletter monthly to show how money was used. Could probably write an essay on this its just a dream for now.

I want education . I can't afford the fees. Let me burn the university down. Then tomorrow you say what is the university doing with the fees they collect . The standards are low. I can't wock with this burnt smell around me .
So who pays for the damages caused.
I remember another incident in UDW where a few students could not afford residence fees , si they got kicked out .next thing a mob goes on a rampage and destroys part of the residence . Now everyone is happy cos problem us solved right .

The mode of protest might seem excessive but I agree with Naledi, today's youth feels cheated.
Despite all the cynicism, all most people want is to better themselves with an education or else the future for them looks bleak.
For our country to progress, this education is critical.
Proposed fee increases for next year are about 50%. What chance do most youths and their parents have ?
"Don't blame those who have no money and no power, blame those who have all the money and all the power, which is wasted and abused".
For example, just the e-toll project alone would give 81 000 students free university education for 3 years !
(Even the Nkandla cost would allow 2000 students a 3 year study)
One can go on and on !
I'm not advocating free education, but reasonable costs.
Imagine how many students would graduate and how our country would move forward ?
