Today we shall perform the time honored rites and ceremonies of this sacred occasion by making seven circuits around the cubed Caaba in Mecca and offer up a sacrificial ram in commemoration of the patriarch Abraham's willingness to slaughter his son, and the said son Ishmael's readiness to offer himself up as a sacrifice for the pleasure of Almighty God.
