I quite explicitly explained the context of the conversation.

If someone says "the problem is dilution/small parties..." and you respond with "Agreed. People need to learn to be good citizens", what exactly is it that you *think* you are saying?

Its not some waffle about active citizenship, unless you explicitly say that BECAUSE THE CONTEXT IS A CONVERSATION ABOUT DILUTION.

My comment was ONLY ON DILUTION.

READ AGAIN

May I ask u...voting is a civic duty. Right?

BUT... what does "being a good citizen " mean to you?

Yes. EXACTLY. That's precisely the point. When you say "people need to learn to be good citizens", it IT IS ON dilution

So basically you are saying that SOLELY by voting and by virtue of NOTHING ELSE , one is then a good citizen?

No. I'm saying that the implication of what *you* wrote, in a discussion on dilution, is that voting for a small party makes you a "not good" citizen. I don't need to define precisely what a good citizen is, in order to dispute your suggestion that diluting your vote means that you are not one.

Again I ask u...

Do u know the difference between civic duty and being a good citizen?

And by not answering I get where u coming from.

One day we shall all understand what good citizenship is and it AINT simply in a vote nor in simply politicking to garner votes

I've never said it was. But you are deliberately trying to deflect. If you think that voting for a small party constitutes civic duty but not good citizenship (which seems to be the implication of what you are now saying) , then the burden of proof is on you to provide some argument in support of that, beyond vaguely suggesting that there is a distinction. Tell us why you think that my vote for a small party means that I have performed my civic duty, but am not a good citizen.

What was that thing you u said about deflecting?

Nice try.

I shall leave you to work out for yourself why u feel you ain't a good citizen and THeN you can come tell US why YOU think you not.

You don't understand how the burden of proof works, do you?

The one who makes a claim, is the one who needs to provide proof. Trying to push the question onto me is the definition of deflecting

Actually I do.

I am innocent until proven guilty...is that not so?

Considering u have made unfounded accusations.

Smile.

Actually, you don't. Not the presumption of innocence. The burden of proof.

The one who makes a claim, is the one who needs to provide proof. Trying to push the question onto me is the definition of deflecting

And you are the one who has made accusations - about who is and isn't a good citizen.

All I've done is call bullshit
