Y has a point though, the two of you are derailing the post with your personal issues. Maybe take it offline.

This may be an interesting weekend and we'd like to hear members views, but many may be scared to express themselves if we start attacking each other.

And it's OK to have a view that's not perfect or even make any sense. And if we mature enough, maybe also listen to the other party, there is always value in what someone else has to say ... even if it doesn't align with what we believe.

Remember this is not a religious forum. We not here to convert people, but have intelligent, and sometimes foolish, adult conversations.

Let's vote and do what we can to encourage others to do the same; and after it's over and things settle we can have a chat about who owns who ... a conversation I can only have with you in the nude, no phones, maybe in the pool ...

Unfortunately after 25 years in this game, I've sadly become pessimistic (fatalistic no), but I do like the hope you have. Maybe you'll rub off on me. I could do with some optimism. A cause to rally behind again...."

You called it "detailing" back then.

I like that word "detailing."

And latest.....

Seems the GNU is now 7 parties strong!

Too many cooks spoiling the broth comes to mind....?

Anybody listened to the Clement Manyathela show on 702 this morning?

What awesome views left by the listeners!

All about Thabo Mbeki's call for National Dialogue.

What a show this morning was!

What a nation of people South Africa is!

When truth be spoken and the courage to say it as is.

I wonder if the citizen shall be heard...I think they shall be heard and baby steps shall be taken in the right direction with many bumps, bruises and scratches.

Good Sunday blessed morning beautiful creatures of this fine earth.

This past week had me quite a bit in my car and thus switching into channels and programmes and loving the , even "negative" positivity heard from all walks of life.

It is amazing how radio presenters who were outright sensationalisation seekers possibly to up listernship or maybe, a reflection of their own self....become quiet when told by many that, it is time to voice knew concerns for good of country and people and call out the last 30 years for what it was.

The best best BEST for me was a young man who called in and mentioned the "Truth and Reconciliation " commission in 1994.

All in the hope of giving justice to what he said, I shall keep it simple

He said
Since SA citizens were never conciled, how could they call it the Truth and Reconciliation commission.

It should have been called the Truth and Conciling commission, everybody speaking their truth and pain.

And 30years down the line now would be the time , to unite all people of South Africa it should be called the truth and Reconciliation commission.

We conciled under the banner of democracy with many flaws faults and untruths and hopes.

And the other one was....there is no more place for revolution. We need to be good citizens and learn what it takes from us as South Africans to make this country work.

Soooooo many more ....an awakening has happened.
To me there was an instant change felt on the streets .....as if people dared to be friendlier toward each other without feeling guilty or angry or begrudgingly being civil toward each other. A sort of relieved happiness.

That was the announcement of the GNU....

And then the "Wikipedia leaks"!!!!!......as the representative of the Good party says....." to put country and people first and party politics aside"

...while the opportunistic hyena cackles in the corner waiting , watching the stalemate and egging the ANC to ditch the DA.

They say red is danger....I wonder which way shall it go

Red.....burn burn BURN.

Or

Blue....Work work WORK.

Are we heading for another election?

Another GNU?

...and so the politicking has trumped good sense, servitude and country and people.

RB.

Sport, arts and culture minister Gayton McKenzie -

In response to queries aboutDie Stemand its association with apartheid by veteran actor and EFF MP Fana Mokoena, who said acceptingDie Stemwas akin to accepting the apartheid flag, McKenzie rebuffed the comparison.

"The two go together in your world, not in the real world because in the real world the flag no longer exists.Die Stemis part of the national anthem. I will accept it," he said.

"There are so many of you who want us to live in the past. We have moved on. We will not be ashamed to say we supportDie Stembeing part of the national anthem."

Some very interesting ministerial appointments to difficult portfolios.

@ Russian Bridgitte
Good start by the new ministers. Though compared to what we had, it does not take much to look exceptionally good.
Let's hope they keep it up!

Hey Fred9.

A few strategic moves by Ramaphosa is what I think.

Portfolios that have failed dismally simply because he and the anc could not alienate future potential voters by calling them out as bad citizens of country and flag, he has now handed over to various parties forming the GNU.

So the balls lacking to keep the country on a trajectory of growth under the banner of "democracy " meant selling it out to criminals and playing to the pains and sufferings due to past political regime.

Keep the citizens focused on the past, spew racist accusations and segregating speeches, keeping focus off their looting, deceit and lies and incompetence.

Nepotism and personal wealth rather than honoring the fight for equality.

So....

If it goes well and these new ministers manage to tackle a more than daunting task ahead of them, then he will be labeled a hero.

And should it fail....well, then he can claim they are to blame and not the anc.

I wonder if the "red tape" shall get in the way to positive application of what, as you have rightly put, can and should only get better.

Can it get any worse....?

RB.

Interesting choices :

Dr Pieter Groenewald, the new Minister of Correctional Services from Freedom Front PLUS.

Minister of agriculture John Steenhuisen....as someone on the radio cracked a joke about the ludicrous potential of such...."die baas van die plaas"

My, my .....let's see what happens

Oh yes...

Does land redistribution fall under the portfolio of the Minister of Agriculture?

No. Been allocated to a PAC minister!
Mzwanele Nyhontso is minister of land reform and rural development.
