I was told by the first lady I visited, when I was a younger man, that a tip was a sign of a gentleman, and that ladies appreciate a little surprise at the end of a session. It's not needed, but it shows her that she's appreciated....
So, as a rule, I always tip, except for the following reasons:
- very poor service;
- I'm rushed out the door before time is up;
- my tip money is taken from my pocket (happened twice);
- poor personal hygene;
- poor venue cleaniness; or
- did not appreciate the lady!
Well the last two ladies that I tipped, 20% of the fee i never even got a thank you from them.
Needless to say I will not be returning to them.
PS; what is the going rate?? .......maybe 20% was a slap in the face

Will make me very unpopular, BUT i dont tip people that asks professional rates. I do not tip my Dr, attorney, etc. Most WGs charges per hour are in line with these professions. I see no reason to feel required to tip. Only tip when it was really exceptional.
I tip only when service is exceptional, wg's, petrol attendants, anyone offering me a service. If you charge R600 and you give me what I paid for, then transaction complete, if you've added something special to the service then you get a little extra. When I tip, it's normally R100 bucks irrespective of the price I have to pay.
It is sometimes difficult to say thank you for a tip especially when you do not know about it and only realize afterwards. I worry about bad timing via sms etc. They are always appreciated and not expected, being a hygienic gentleman is ALREADY a bonus for me! !!
I usually give the lady a tip. Unless the service is really bad.
Good service warrants a tip. If I have a really good time I will give her R200.
I tend to stick to my regular WGs and they always get R200.
If I go to a more expensive venue - R850 or more, which isn't very often - I don't tip. I can't afford it.
