Lots of decent advice 4u here, however, if the neurologist fails, then try and get a decent Physician, however my sentiments are that good doctors are few and far between in SA

I'm with Sibyl on this. Go see an ophthalmologist.

It's the watery eyes and blinding head ache combined with the ear ache, although not terribly bad it was there.

I had it.

In my case I had gone out an bought off the shelf reading glasses when my prescription pair were broken. R150 v R1,500 seemed a good deal at the time.

It took about a week of watery eyes getting worse (I thought it was allergies) and then the headaches started.

New prescription glasses sorted it in days.

Go book an MRI, why not, but while waiting get your eyes tested and see if you need a new prescription. If you don't wear glasses at present then maybe you need to.

My advise is a follow:
1: Make sure you have a proper medical aid. (The state hospitals will remove your balls by accident when they just needed to take a x ray)
2: See a good GP and let him refer you to the relevant specialists.
3: But be prepared to spend some money!

But it does not sound like something you should ignore Boet!

Sounds horrible!!!!

I would go straight to the www.theheadacheclinic.net/

They have a team of specialists to figure it out!

Hope you feel better soon!!!

I agree. Had terrible migraines for over 20yrs, booked a visit at the headache clinic and they found the possible cause which I am managing very well at present. The visit will cost quite a packet, as a team of specialists examine you in detail and conduct a few tests before prescribing a course of treatment.
NB: I am not aligned nor an employee at this organization, but merely suggesting an alternative to treating your condition.

I'm not a medical Doc.
Let's say I have a friend with similar issues.
MRI as soon as you can.
Cluster head pain can be triggered by many factors. You should write an activity mapping of your day and try to relate the event with your activities. Could be salt, spices, coffee, bright light, preservatives in food, nicotine, alcohol etc. or .... the sudden lack of it. Boaring as hell, but if it's caused by a peak of blood pressure it's also the best one to fix. You should ask your GP to wear a recording device for a couple of days to keep track of sudden blood pressure peaks. BP can look regular even if you measure it twice a day, only the device will tell if there are issues. You could also try calcium and magnesium before going to sleep, cannot harm you unless you have kidney issues. If you are a chain smoker or an heavy drinker, it could be triggered after a period without smoking or drinking, when you body tries to adapt. All the best.

Get to a specialist and do an MRI it many things that could be causing the symptoms you have. The scary part is that if you dont an MRI/CTSCAN the symptoms may progress and become nasty. It could be a tumor a blood cloth so have it checked ASAP.

It could be something as "simple" as trigeminal neuralgia.

It could be triggered by the pressure on the nerve whilst sleeping. Because it is a facial nerve that runs to the brain, it could cause your eye to tear as well. Although it is a chronic condition, it is manageable with medication and sometimes does spontaneously clear up.

I would be insistant on further medical testing, considering this has been an ongoing condition.

Kind Regards

You could be grinding your teeth or bruxing.

Perhaps a simple bite plate will sort the problem out.

Hi buddy

I had a similar issue and yes Sibyl is right, I seen an eye specialist turns out I have Keratconus, had cross linking done and lenses, however the headache was still there, what also started was lesions on my head.

Tried MRI and every other thing possible.

In the end I was desperate and someone suggested Wet Cupping which is basically similar to Chinese Dry Cupping where skits are made for the letting of the toxic blood.

Well had 12 mini cups on my head, I was appalled at what came out but bottom line I was cured.
Was also advised to add apple cider vinegar to my diet.

Hope this helps you but 1st Try MRI and see the eye specialist.

Wet Cupping was my last resort.
