Accounts are sometimes frozen for suspicious activity (usually payments, but can also be deposits), and a proof of payment is sometimes requested to confirm the deposit was legitimate and/or intentional.

No. I just received a message today from the bank saying they will freeze my account month end if I do not update my information need to update the FICA. :/ this chick probably need to do it. Just you don't send any of your bank information to her.

Not so sure the request for a payslip makes sense. What i know is the bank will 'freeze' the account when it receives funds from sources they consider not legit e.g an account suspected of fraudulent activities or whose source of funds seems unclear or illegitimate.

At times if you wanna externalise funds they will want to know the source of funds. I don't know whats the engagement procedure, can a third party bank ask for your information? What I know is if its a different bank from yours, the third party bank will communicate with your bank who will contact you, even in writing which will be easier to verify. Try and get something in writing from the bank requesting info

If the issue was the source account, chances are OP would have been flagged and blocked as well.

I don't see a scenario where they'd ask the owner of the blocked destination account to ask the source account owner to provision a payslip. It makes no sense.

Banks have a security module that will 'freeze' the money transferred to the account in the event there is a recall of the funds.

This module is usually triggered on new accounts and irregular transfer amounts. Irregular in this case maybe the first transfer or a transfer that is larger than normally received

This is usually corrected after a reasonable amount of time if no complaints are received
