Yep, as a CNS drug, it 'dulls' sensation. So you have to work harder to feel something.
Personally, I prefer to feel every moment, even the awkward nervous anxiety of having to get naked with a stranger.... but unfortunately age has the same effect as alcohol.

I wonder if alcohol is "Dutch courage " to letting go of some inhibitions all in the hope of being more carefree...?...a sort of crutch imagining it cannot be just as good without it?...throwing care to the wind sort of thing?
