One of the best lessons I learnt in life was your problems are as bad as you make it out to be. I see people begging for money to feed there children or themselves. I personally find sharing a glass of wine by myself not so bad as a problem when I think of that.

I would rather be alone than watching someone I love freeze to death while starving and homeless

It is not so bad to sit alone and drink an (excellent) bottle of wine by yourself gazing into the fire. Life is sometimes a mad rush after who knows what, chasing empty dreams or goals, and always thinking that "If I get this or that, life will be better", or "If I lose that extra 10 kilos I will have a better social life".

It is never like that. Life is what it is, and it is also what you make of it. You will only start being content with who you are when you realise that :

THIS IS AS GOOD AS IT IT GOING TO GET

And I am not saying that you should abandon your hopes and dreams and aspirations, but simply look around you and be thankful for what you have. See if what you have is not good enough. I guarantee you that once you realise this, life will become easier to live.

Yes, we still have our daily set of never ending problems, but you face them and sort them out.

And for being alone, is it not sometimes better to find solace in yourself and be happy within yourself ? I find that being happy with my circumstances, horrible as they might be in someone else's eyes, are still not as bad as the next person.

So I find comfort in being alone.

If you can't, well then what are friends for ? Invite them over, go and visit them, arrange anything.

Life is for the living, go and be happy.

You are the master of your own destiny.

Sounds like the absolutely perfect way end a weekend....just add a good habano to the mix and theres nothing better.
