@Witwolf82, if there was more that transpired, it certainly would have been possible to inform me in private. After all, that was my preferred way of communicating in what seems to be a delicate matter. It was Antionette's choice to cut communication in private.

Moreover, it was Antionette who asserted that this was all just "too much", which seems to indicate a general dissatisfaction, not a singular, telling event.

I like Shakira, and respect Eddie. I hope for a reconciliation of interests...if that is farting in the wind, at least it is free.

Am I missing something sorry guy's but why should Veronica be banned? As far as I can see she was looking out for a client/s and didn't get into a public confrontation.

Bad timing and all for Shakira and I do feel for her but has anyone stopped to think the consequences of what could have happened had that alleged meeting in a restaurant gone public or been picked up by the authorities / media.

It would have exposed / turned the public eye to a forum and site we all love jeopardizing everyone involved.

Veronica from what I can see tried to do nothing but stop that anonymity being shed for some by Sharon, while at the same time following a discrete path handing it over to ESA to deal with.

I think this is very short sighted and do see how Eddie is keeping our world quiet and safe.

I am the poster child for publicity gets you a lot of attention from the wrong quarters, I accept this but that does not mean Eddie has to nor does it mean he has to universally put everyone at risk.

Again no fight but playing devils advocate.

Well said Sean...Veronica was not banned from advertising as she had nothing to do with the alleged restaurant incident. However she has been banned from posting on the forum and answering pm's, due to some complaints...

@Sean, you are right about unintended publicity, but if Shakira's account is true, Sharon forced attention on her...hardly something she could have avoided.

Again, she would be victim rather than problem. I appreciate your playing devil's advocate, though.

Would you say the get-togethers at venues like News Cafe are risky for the same reason? There is always the potential with alcohol being consumed for people to become indiscreet...

Guys, I know Shakira many years now, as far back when she started as Nikki in water street.. Yes, she has been through a crap load over the years and did all sorts of things she shouldnt have done. But she really turned things around over the past 2 years. It seems out of character for her if I read the turn of events. It would have been far more believable if it were said she was drunk, she moered the girl and the seduced the manager.. Bottom line, I know how she operates and will take this with a pinch of salt. For her being banned.. dont have all the facts and therefor cant comment

The get togethers don't really draw attention from positions of authority mate this had the potential for police involvement.

That said I think there is one section we need to focus on:

If we are honest that whether it is right or wrong was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back.

With past histories etc. I think it is ESA's prerogative to just feel the end has been reached and rather to walk away.

If you read Eddie's response I think we are all missing the fact he is not saying Shakira telling Sharon is ludicrous but rather the accusations made after that sentence are.

The cleanest person in a mud wrestling match is the one not involved, I think this is the approach that has been adopted.

That said it really has nothing to do with any one of us and Eddie is free to do as he wishes without having to explain to anyone. The parties concerned if aggrieved should take it up with him, I do think posting private correspondence especially when it was mentioned the matter was closed will be seen as a dig at their right to make these choices mate.

Again I believe this comes from a good place but please see it as there is plenty room to misunderstand the motives of this post so am actually trying to help you not muck the waters more.

Exactly! That's the Shakira I know as well!

@Sean - your comment would only be valid if one gives credibility to the sentence you cite. Because the rest of that e-mail is so unbelievable, at this point, I have to give Shakira's account more credibility. And I believe that perhaps one should stick by and be loyal to advertisers who don't allegedly extort clients before believing the fantastic e-mails of those ex-advertisers who do.

As to the right of ESA to do what they want on their site, of course they can. That doesn't mean that one cannot invite a change of mind, if done with respect and with logical reasons put forward. As I have said, I have great respect for Eddie and the work done to build this site. I honestly believe he might have made a rare lapse of judgment based on the limited information available.
