You are right - not much except that on average those who add Afrikaans as one of their languages are (on average) lighter skinned than those in South Africa who don't but that is without adding in some who speak French or German. Very complicated

Language and skintone are mutually exclusive. I played a clip of someone speaking zulu to my zuku friends. Then I showed them the vid of my Irish friend's daughter speaking zulu that even zulus were fooled. She is a lily white redhead.
Guys assume they know what race someone is according to skintone and language but its all a farce. So many ladies get told 'are you really coloured/ white/indian?' cos guys have a preconceived idea what a race should look like.
