The stigma is also something that destroys our personal lives as far as relationships go and is even used against women who have kids by their exs etc. Normal professions certainly don't include that.

FFS, it does not matter what 'job' you, so long as you are putting food on the table, roof over your head, who gives a rats arse what you do. I have done some pretty awful things in my life, fortunately we were brought up, keep your mouth shut, and suck it up. Unfortunately people get sucked into this social media nonsense, then take umbrage, ignore, just move on

There is a saying "if at first you don't succeed try, try and try again".

The generalisation of the type of people in certain professions is just that...a generalisation.

Attorneys are dishonest and bottom feeders or sharks.

Accountants are boring and wear both a belt an braces just in case they may unexpectedly expose their ass.

There a numerous other examples.

However a sexworker needs a lot of skills that are not generally thought about.
The ability to listen...
The ability to empathise...
The ability to hold a conversation and be intimate with someone you have just met.
The ability to understand what it is the customer wants.
The ability to make the customer think he is handsome and the best thing since sliced bread.
The ability to tell the customer to go to hell in a way that makes him look forward to the trip.
Tact.
The ability to always look and smell good.
Oh...and if course how to make the customer happy.
And to know when to say no.

Dumb?
Definitely not!

Sorry but pre conceptions exist about many jobs, flight attendants, cleaners,hair dressors etc etc etc

Yes Johndoe, but can they lose new jobs if their new employers find out about them being any of those things...do they deal with the possibility of blackmail and sexual harrassment in their new jobs. Some girls have even come back because they lost their jobs due to this.

I have never met a "dumb" SP. have met a few aspirant lawyers, accountants and even a to-be doctor. Never met one that was to dumb to have a career outside of the industry.

I am one of those that are happy when some manage to leave the industry, and do feel sad with them when circumstances forces them back.

No shame to be back. Honest hareorking job, better than expecting others to provide for you in life. Very few ladies are here because the want to be, most are here because of financial hardship.

You have nothing to be ashamed of , on the contrary you should be proud of the services that you provide !
No one has the right to look down on you or your chosen profession .
