I do muff, but only if the lady is clean and there aren't any bad odours down there. If there are any unpleasant whiffs I just don't go down.
Fortunately most ladies in purple land take pride in themselves, not all but most.
Otherwise it's great, just go for it and have fun. So far no lady has turned down my offer for a muffing ;)

I am a selfish bastard. I love receiving oral. I dont give oral. In 20 years punting, i have muffed only 2 girls. They were sooooo sexy, but otherwise, i seldom feel like it - especially given the risk.
