Two acquaintances I know have ended up getting married thru internet dating. Ironically, both these guys found foreign women. The one married a Indian girl from Moz and the other married a stunning Morrocan gal.

I'm realistic. Im too ugly for online dating and that swipe left/right shit. Punting is my only option to get punani.

Online dating is really big overseas. I know already a couple people friends and family from the States who've found their soulmates through online dating. And ended up getting married. I thought i could try the same but South Africa has a lot of work to be in the level of overseas dating sites....just money making schemes and fakers....oh well guess il keep looking for a gfe in ESA then lmao

Agreed it works well overseas, something just went wrong with the scene in SA. But that is the dating scene in SA in general, what car do you drive, where do you work, how much do you earn and where do you live. If you looking for love its going to be very difficult, treat the first date like a first meeting before the first date even if you have been chatting for ages. Your chances of getting laid are higher than finding a perfect match, that being said there are success stories. The key is NO EXPECTATIONS.

It does work but you just need to be careful on who you fell for.I have met wonderful gentlemen there, but because I am not really good with relationships myself.so I forever messing things up,my longest relationship I ever had was with a guy from dating site whom I am still friend with till today.

I've been using dating sites for over 4 years now, and the main reason for that is because they cater to my needs.

What I have noticed though, is that most of the women on there throw in the towel quite early because they are overwhelmed by the number of "creeps" on there. Some say the men are not attractive.

Dating Apps such as Tinder and Bumble have gained a lot more popularity amongst women aged between 21 and 35. I'm not sure about ladies north of 35 because that's above my filter. My best user experience has been in Cape Town when it comes to quantity (more users than Jhb & PTA) and looks.

They obviously don't work for everyone as looks are important. I'm not on there to look for love so I can't count myself as a success story, but there are 'quality' (I hate using this word to describe people) women on there. Just be patient.

Like someone up there mentioned, don't give up. Reasons like, new in town, maybe a little introverted, or what ever, does drag some real sweeties to online dating. But, don't pay, use the free sites (Ladies won't pay).

I been on online dating for a LONG time, years ago. Most are soaked in issues, but my target been the 'no strings' ladies, so listening to issues been okay, the evenings ended well. But as time gone on, I made so many friends that I still have today, they are the ones I spoke of worth keep trying for. They are all happily married today, from online dating. (Didn't have sex with them, they were, special, keepers, sex complicate things).

EDIT: Like Pseudonyms mentioned, the creeps does freak out the sweet ladies, they don't stay long. So, if you spot a sweet one, be a gent, be yourself. Just 1 word they don't like = No reply, because their mind is set on 'freaks on here' from all the - "BB, wanna get naughty"... :-) Good luck!
