Not really a funny story, but really unconfortable. Did one of my all day bookings at a venue with Princess, and eventually stumbled out the door, still sweating profusely (it was like running a marathon), legs wobbly, balls floating like balloons, unlike the anchors I arrived there with, fell into my car, turned the key.... and nothing. This was Saturday afternoon.
This could not happen. After all, German engineering ? Built like no other car ? Got out, all the girls leaving and standing looking at me. Princess standing framed in the door, I asked what now, no answer. Should have known then what a mistake I was about to make, but I digress. Owners brother gave me a lift.
Got home, left my house keys in the car. Broke a window to get in. Smelling of perfume and her and perspiration. Undress, my flippin wallet also in the car. Now I feel naked. No keys , no credit card, Saturday evening ? Sunday spent at home and work, nowhere to go, cant really tell my staff what happened. Ever had that feeling that when you can't do something, then it is the only thing that you want to do ?
Monday arrived. Got the staff member who will ask no questions to drop me off at a nearby shopping centre. Phoned Merc to send a towtruck. Big mistake. Gave the venues address. Walked to the venue, wait for the towtruck. Car was parked at the back, as the rollback arrived, I realised there is no way that thing will fit through the entrance to the back. My car hardly makes it, broke my mirror there already.
Walked to the back, heart in my shoes. My good luck fairy whispered to start the car, maybe she just had a rest. Lo and behold, the car starts. Rushed out, paid the towtruck, and back to work.
Two kilos from work, the flippin car cuts out again. No way starting again.
Phone Benz again to come fetch me. Towtruck dropped me off, took car to Benz, two hours sorted out. Loose wire.
But, every time I walk into Merc, I get the feeling they are laughing behind my back. Yes, that is the guy that got stuck at a massage venue. Never actually saw someone laughing, but I am pretty sure that they all know. The ladies were up and about dressed in their little scraps of clothing while the towtruck driver walked to the back with me. He must have told someone there.
That feeling of shame. Mercedes, built like no other car....
