In a wellness session, always to listen to what the problem may be .
Stress and tension are great contributors to lower back pain and when doing "body mapping" due to lower back stress , quite a bit of focus shall be on the glute muscle, working into the seat of the sciatica
It is not the pain that would be addressed but rather understanding what is the cause of the pain.
Bad habits.
Lower back pain ...a physical challenge many people will go through more than once in their life.
Modern fast paced living being one of the root causes.
Looking fwd to assisting and releasing short tight muscles that may restrict movement....with follow up muscle maintenance sessions.

Another early morning start with a group of cyclists.
Our biggest and strongest muscle in our body, the glute muscle, our buttocks.
As always our bodies speak volume to possible reason of injury or challenged movement .
Weak glutes can lead to injury, imbalance and debilitating movement.
When focusing on issues such as lower back pain , any issues with the hip and leg or foot, one possible telling sign is weak glute muscles
Sprains in leg and foot joints can be minimized with the strengthening of glutes.
Addressing muscle imbalances knows to address those compensatory movements that place strain on joints and other muscles that can lead to a ripple effect of physical restraints.
As always , with the cyclists to ensure that those major muscles in the glute are seen to.
Looking fwd to assisting YOU understand your possible physical challenge and being your go to sport and body therapist.

If muscle maintenance is not the reason for booking a sport therapist, but rather an injury or repetitive pain leading to debilitating movement knowing to affect one's behavior due to the ongoing pain , please note...
As much relief one might gain in that first session of therapy, so much more follow up sessions are required to deal with the potential problem.
When asked when should I come again, each "next visit" depends on the massage therapy required.
Pls note. No pain no gain.
Also doesnt mean "hurting" the body through excessive force .
Looking fwd to making healthy "muscle memory" a relief from icky niggles, aches and pains.

Lovers of the 5km Saturday Park runs
Practice and keeping fit and monitoring ones performance for upcoming marathons.
Wonderful event for the amateur jogger or lover of enjoying the outdoors keeping fit at the same time.
One of the muscles that play a huge role when it comes to performance
The adductors.
Tight adductors can impede performance and stability and be a cause of knee pain, hip pain, groin pain and inner thigh pain
"The adductors help internally rotate the hips to create massive power from the lower body" quoted.
Tight adductors know to have a negative ripple effect on one's posture affecting movement and even making sleep uncomfortable.
Looking fwd to hearing from you.

Achilles Tendonitis
"There are two large muscles in the calf. These create the power needed to push off with the foot or go up on the toes.
The large Achilles tendon connects these muscles to the heel and allows you to push your foot down. You use your Achilles tendon when walking, running, and jumping." - quoted.
In cases where severe swelling or bruising, increase in pain over an extended period of time, should be attended to by your gp before looking to sport massage remedies.
Understanding the underlying problem helps assist in choosing the correct means of dealing with possible pain in heel, stiffness in calf , especially in the morning leading to debilitating movement affecting one's posture and even leading to snappy short temper due to the discomfort one feels.
Looking fwd to assisting all sporting disciples when it comes to foot and calf maintenance.

When looking to assist with physical challenges, the more information shared that will make me understand what needs to be done, the better.
Any questions asked eg what work do you do?...simply helps me understand possible bad habits, daily pressure and strains.
Any information shared stays pvt.
Should you embark on a wellness programme with me, it is structured and priced according to YOUR programme.
Looking fwd to being your choice when it comes to mind and body maintenance.

Although when coming for a sport massage with the intent of relieving a specific issue eg shoulder pain, many a time when assessing mapping the body's alignment and muscle tension , certain ripple effects leading to problematic issues causing greater discomfort may be detected.
And thus not only to take note of the pain but address the ripple effects and possible further causes for the discomfort.
One key factor always addressed in my session is breathing technique and the importance of oxygen feed to the body.
The first step to meditation I practice and share....my breathing technique.
Looking fwd to being your personal wellness therapist.

Very often I mention muscle memory which takes place through repetitive motion and behaviour.
Bad habits or sports where repetitive motion is required eg.a golfers swing can lead to tears over stretching and damage.
And thus when asking about habits both social, professional and sport, it is telling why long term persistent niggles and aches may occur.
Once again...questions asked to assist with understanding the state of your muscles and suggesting corrective measures in behaviour, routine and stretch exercises suggested.
A huge thank you to the golfer gentleman this morning for coming by and do hope I shall be your pit stop forward whenever required.

Rotator cuff tears are more common than one could imagine.
This is a tear in the tissue that connects the muscle to the bone and can occur through repetitive shoulder motion.
The symptom would be shoulder pain and weakness in arm.
One treatment may alleviate some of the pain but, such an injury, requires a longer period of time to heal and consistent treatment and engaging in stretch and strengthening exercises.
Not to mistake a frozen should or bicep tendinitis as a rotator cuff injury.
Always remember to warm your muscles before engaging in intense exercising.
Looking forward to your call and assisting with those niggly aches and pains and helping you understand how YOU can help yourself.
