seeing that you mention your age i dont think you should feel bad about the way you are and your intentions im half your age and i have done the same(was brought up to help and share), its not your fault that some humans have stooped to such low levels morally and ethically, money is a tool it taught you something and you used it for something but dont ever apologize for you kindness and consideration that is exactly what we need more of and its sad that we have to be cautious of that today.

Peterpan- sorry to hear about that.
Your intentions were good, however that was your disposable income as you said.

Good luck for the future bud.

How many times does one need to get their fingers burnt before they learn.

If people learnt from been deceived once, generosity and kindness would no longer exist

Be true to your own nature and conscience and live life by your own rules, that way you can look in tje mirror in the morning with no guilt

If given wholeheartedly by not expecting to be paid back.

Kindness can go so far that's why we are prone to self destruct by letting it continue without setting some form of boundary, somewhere. Money is not a joke, we end up not only resenting the wrong doer but resent ourselves in the process after realising how ugly the reflection in the mirror is.

Simple rules

Always help whenever you can.

Never lend more than you can afford to loose.

Do not complain if the loan is not repaid as you were aware of the risk you were taking.

PeterPan

Too much pixie dust ? LOL

It is always and forever just about the money. No one will change my mind regarding this.

They will play you like a Stradivarius, and when they sucked you dry, they move along.

Some advice from a FF (Fellow Fool):

Cut the umbilical cord. Savagely and severely. Walk, no run away and simply forget about their existence. Block their numbers, better still, delete it. The money is gone. Forever. You have been played for a fool. They are bragging about it with their sistas playing one-arm bandits at Monties....

Learn from your mistakes. There are many good causes to contribute to. Contributing here is like throwing your hard earned monies into a bottomless pit. Rather go on a holiday, by yourself.

Be the better person.

Simply ghost away.

And secretly smile when you hear about the shit happenining in their lives. Karma. Be thankful you are not involved any more.

I just feel like there's good and there's bad people in life.

And once in a while you'll cross paths with a bad one, that's just life.

@PETERPAN959; your tale of woe is indeed a familiar one that's been told countless times on this here forum.

The other part of your story, of some WGs letting themselves go is also true. There is a legendary WG who used to be superhot from 2009 to 2013. Damn when I saw her recently again it was one of those WTF moments. I wont elaborate since it will unleash the forum wrath and I'll just end up banned and laptop/laptop guy will get confused again if I have to rename myself ChanaMagaj

If someone asks/hints for money, rather give an undertaking to visit them more often. That way it is a win-win for both.

This is the purple world. Even though we encounter intimate and emotionally stimulated dopamine situations, it crosses some wires in our big heads and small hearts. Remember the business side... the money side. Don't screw yourself if you can't afford it.

We were brought up to 'never a borrower nor a lender be'. A lesson I learnt if you lend money, if you get it back, it is a bonus
