Those who love me need no explanation from me, and those who don't are unwilling to understand or accept any explanation from me.
One of the better answers I keep ready is "Thank you, I will take that into consideration". This halts me from giving the uneccesary explanation, that I will be ridiculed for anyway.
Where I DO find it necessary to have my say, is when I define my boundaries to somebody. This, however, is completely different to explaining/justifying myself or voicing my opinion.
