Angie and Sage do doubles one time and Centurion blows up.

Parts of Centurion are experiencing a power outage following a break-in at the Highveld substation. Upon inspecting the premises of the substation, it was also discovered that 6 cables were interfered with and removed. Three of the six cables are feeder power lines from Kentron substation.

The City's electricians are onsite to replace some of the stolen batteries and cables.

Hereunder are the affected areas:

Highveld
Centurion Golf Estate
As well as some zones along Olivenhoutbosch Road, Oak Avenue as well as John Vorster Avenue.
It is estimated that power supply will be restored before 6h00 tomorrow morning.

The City apologises for the inconvenience caused to the affected residents.

The current fuckup is far more serious

*HIGHVELD: AREA POWER INTERRUPTION*

Affected areas:

* Highveld
* Southdowns
* Centurion Licence Centre
* Agricultural Research Council (ARC)
* Southdowns Shopping Centre.

Conducted oversight today on-site.

Work is in progress by rebuilding a temporary power network at the substation while other cable faults are also being attended to elsewhere. The latter, upon completion will make backfeed possible to Highveld customers.

Multiple repair projects are currently underway. Should all go according to plan then power will be restored to Highveld first, thereafter to Southdowns and lastly ARC, most probably not on the same day.

There are four substations, two primary and two secondary substations that may assist with backfeed once the cable faults have been repaired.

Under these circumstances it is very difficult to provide an estimated restoration time for each affected area as each area has its own unique challenge.

The aim is to restore power to some areas tomorrow and the remaining over the weekend.

Also by the time I get my passport the electricity would be back on
