The original name for Pretty Woman was '3000' and the ending was Edward tossing the money at Vivian and kicking her back out onto the streets. She then hooks up with her friend goes on a drug binge and dies of an overdose.

The script was meant to portray how the rich screw the poor using the holiday prostitute scene as a metaphor ... well Hollywood couldn't have that.

AL Pacino was originally cast, but then he turned it down ... wondering how RB and Hazel would feel about Pacino.
