If it's light rain and heavy lightning, my dstv, tv and home theatre system and modem gets unplugged immediately. I'm on my second hd tv so i know how damaging lightnng strikes can be.

Well the Marantz was old, and I bought it in the USA. Replacement for the updated model isn't too bad, about 30-ish but I am going to use this opportunity to switch brands. The Cisco was an 887VAG. Both are far from the most expensive items! My Cisco 2921 *is* insured, as is my PC (about 180K) and my RAID system (about the same). I did say I was a geek right? lol

A family member is doing some maintenance work at a Supermarket Warehouse and part of their roof blew off. They have had staff sweeping water out the warehouse to keep the water from damaging stock and some stock was damaged but it could have been a lot worse.
