The sentence for murder carries a mandatory sentence of 15 years under the law in South Africa, however the sentencing judge may impose a lighter sentence if he/she finds special circumstances. I can not see that after 5 SCA judges as much told her she made mistakes she would look to hard for special circumstances. I know that she applied for the post of Chief Justice for LIMPOPO province, but after this debacle I don't think she will get that appointment.

What happens to the office bets. Those that bet he would be guilty of murder lost and paid up. Do they get back the bet?

Politics do have an interest in you though.... Those who are quick to dismiss the relevance of understanding the political sphere often find themselves squashed under it as their rights are dissolved...
It is politics that keeps this very industry illegal after all...

As for the way he shot... none of us where there... everything, and I do mean everything beyond that is pure speculation.
I have seen the most well trained people in the military fire wildly and an ancient tannie take her time with shot placement when called upon to fire in anger. We all react very differently depending circumstance.
There is a well known video doing the FB rounds right now of a police woman (an officer) who cannot even put her firearm together, this is part of the basic level of training yet we are going to speculate on a civilian ???
You would have better luck at trying to predict the lotto numbers.

Deamonza you bring all kinds of irrelevant Blue bullshit into this.
You are callous and cruel.
He has a huge fan base.

I hope he gets the full 15 year sentence.

1. There was an argument.
2. In a jealous rage he pursued her with his firearm in his hand.
3. She fled into the bathroom and locked herself inside.

OH, IF ONLY SHE OPENED THE DOOR AND RAN OUT OF THE APARTMENT !!!!!

Oscar shows no remorse.
He even found himself a new girlfriend.

By the way we don't refer to a human being as "dead".

It is a civil way to say Reeva has passed away.

Evem if she sentence him for the min term of 15 years, she could include the 10 months that he already served. But he could again be released on parole once he seved at least 6 years of the 15 years.

"I just want to know how the judge feels after today that 5 other judges told her she did almost nothing right"

You're kidding? She was praised she endured and handled the case so well, she just made a small error in giving the veeeeeery wrong verdict.
Oscar is a murderer and should be treated as such, and now he will too!

As for judge Masipa I have a special opprobrium reserved for her, not fit to be printed here.

She barely spoke during the trial.
...as if she was struck dumb by Mr Nel's eloquence.

Ben Layden : Deamonza you bring all kinds of irrelevant Blue bullshit into this.
You are callous and cruel.
He has a huge fan base.

DeamonZA : Surely equal treatment under the law cannot be considered bullshit ?
What I am doing is asking how you can say the death of others in a similar manner is irrelevant ?
I am sure Zanele Khumalo's family don't think she is irrelevant, not do Betty Ketani's.

Ben Layden : I hope he gets the full 15 year sentence.
1. There was an argument.
2. In a jealous rage he pursued her with his firearm in his hand.
3. She fled into the bathroom and locked herself inside.
OH, IF ONLY SHE OPENED THE DOOR AND RAN OUT OF THE APARTMENT !!!!!

DeamonZA : Really ? Can you or anyone else prove this is what happened, no, you are speculating.... Is this what we should base our legal decisions on ? And you wonder why those in power couldn't give a toss about the law in SA.
Oh, and it was a house... not an apartment.

Ben Layden : Oscar shows no remorse.

DeamonZA : Again, speculation... there is absolutely no way to quantify this and no way to satisfy the bloodlust that people such as yourself are after... Others have said he has indeed shown remorse but unless he hangs himself in full view of the public none of you are going to be happy...

Ben Layden : By the way we don't refer to a human being as "dead".
It is a civil way to say Reeva has passed away.

DeamonZA : Since when does "dead" not apply to humans ? Would you prefer I state that she has shuffled off her mortal coil ? Dead, deceased, passed away, nonsense semantics...
By the way have you not just called me callous and cruel yet you demand I speak with civility about a person long since deceased. Since her own mother hasn't behaved with any decorum and cold bloodily profited from her death I will base my language on hers in fairness.

Skywalker69, a very interesting question indeed!
My bet is they get back the hat, empty though, bet's been spent.

And, deamonza, your "You would have better luck at trying to predict the lotto numbers" refers.
Ever thought of the possibility that all draws are pre-recorded already? They just reel off another youtube, however the outcome predetermined...
