In terms of shop bought pepper spray CS gas is like bringing a bazooka to a knife fight.
Agreed that Krav is good -- virtually any Martial Art is good, as good as the Sensei / instructor.
I am not so sure about CS vs pepper spray because I am one of the 10% that are immune to the latter so it would be unfair for me to talk from my own experience (to me CS is far worse, plus more complex decontamination), however the vast majority of those who have experienced both CS and pepper seem to feel that pepper is far worse. CS is also coupled with litigation (consequential physical damage to heart and liver), whereas pepper is pretty clean.
Then there is the "collateral damage" aspect of CS -- in virtually all applications, it is a fogger, so it is great for deploying in a locked room full of trigger-happy armed nasties, but not so great for a targeted spray, shout and shuffle to the exit. It is also great for a crowd if you (and friendlies) are upwind (as the so-called "transformed" Special Task Force discovered in a demonstration at a school a few years ago).
I also know some folk who swear that they would prefer to be shot (wearing a L3 BPV) than to undergo pepper spray training again-- and having personally experienced the former, understand exactly what pain that must be.
So IMHO, pepper is good for the retail market and as long as a WG does not depend on it entirely, is good in direct-stream form.
