@JJsoap that was mean and uncalled for.
Very sneaky and underhanded.
You should be ashamed of yourself man.

You asked his view in order to trip him up and make him out to be a racist.

He gave a view that was once again well reasoned and did not really call to be drawn into a racial debate and to be personally attacked once again.

Now go and hide in a hole because when the EFF come into power you better be in Australia as you don't deserve Vaseline bru.

I honestly hate insulting people but anyone with half a brain can see that that I'm trying to prove a point with logic and reasoning, but the denialist have their blinkers on.

A possible scenario...

A foreigner wants to invest in RSA.

In a labour intensive business that will create 100s or 1000s of jobs.
And create jobs in the entities that will supply them their goods, materials and services.

The investor wants to own their investment.
All of it, the land, buildings, plant, machinery, vehicles, electronic equipment.....all of it.

They investigate.

Ohhhhhh......expropriation without compensation.....Labour laws and trade unions that protect (mommycoddle) the workers at the expense of ensuring pride in your employer, satisfaction in their job as well as the economic viabilty of the business.

Decision.....Let us rather invest in one of the former soviet block countries.

Opportunity lost.

Exactly! I 100% agree. If you are looking for an investment environment, then expropriation... in any format really, is NOT the way to go.

But the problem is you have a lot of angry masses who will eventually destroy the investment potential of the country if you don't do something (whether that's right or wrong is a different debate entirely but it's there).

And once the rage spills over it will spill over to all of the people who are refusing to share wealth more fairly. (not even wealth really but just a share of the economy that allows people a modicum of dignity). This rage will be violent and indiscriminate, it will ravage through the middle class of both white and blacks. All people with wealth and oppurtunity will be targeted

I say this all the time. Entirely spot on.

Thanks man. I INTENTIONALLY made sure to qualify my statements to show I don't want to look at this from a strictly racial background, this kind of thing is too important to be reduced to black vs white by the likes of Jjsoap.

Okay...so there isn't enough of this on fb and twitter and every news site and newspaper out there...let's all make new skid marks in our underpants on esa too with regards to this crap! Go onto social media rather where you can really have your say and won't have to mind your Ps and Qs...i have some good rants on occasion but would never discuss my views on esa!

Personally I agree with you. I think it's stupid to debate such things on an anonymous website where you can say all sorts of things without having to actually stand behind your statements.
I was requested (under what I thought was a civilised and grown up request) to give my views and i attempted to give reasoned and fair arguments expecting others to do the same. The mud slinging is pointless and I'm not going to respond further to that. But I think if there is good critical debate where people can learn, I don't see anything wrong with that. I even said that I don't know all the facts and my opinion is still being formed and changed. Who knows maybe I can see a point of view that I never considered and vice versa. Yet responding to every comment Lol. This thread is proving quite enjoyable, thankyou for the entertainment. Since the comment was directly aimed at jjsoap, your input is invalidated in terms of my comment :) have a lovely day

I agree with all the statements knowing full well we come from various backgrounds etc. We all have our prejudices. Some call me a fence sitter but I merely acknowledge that I understand all sides. I do have my own opinions of coarse, but besides the ROAR topic, i do believe that this topic does not belong on the forum as the political situation in South Africa makes life very hard to navigate in normal circumstances and even more so in this industry. If topics like this didn't pop up all the time, people would be so much more accessible in terms of race. Many of these topics have me second guessing my preferences. Politics are not condusive to an atmosphere of relaxation as it gets our backs up and causes more division!

My comments to Jsoap were that he did not make any attempts to read a balanced logical reasoned argument but rather went straight to making it a race debate.

The whole idea of a forum is to get differing views and to learn from each other's experiences however I guess some are to hrllbent on looking for a fight without trying to learn or contribute to the debate.
Think JJ can put his hand up here.

SA has the biggest gap in equality between the rich and the poor in the world possibly.
This statement is not about colour but have and have nots.

How will we ever address these issues without trying to hear all the views.

Unfortunately with the JJsoaps in our society that looks nigh impossible.

Is this really the platform for it though? Social media is rife with this at the moment. Why not keep it off this small little corner of the web? It's very off putting to us as service providers and seeing how you guys carry on with each other sparks anger in us too depending on our political views.
