How many ladies actually use their real names?
Came across this thread while trawling. Thought it was a nice topic to revive as we have new ladies on the forum since this post.
I am who I am, I can answer for two of the names you mentioned.
Ann Bews: I can answer this since I was with her when she chose it and explained it to me. She loved the historical icon ,Ann Boleyn (Strange choice since she was beheaded by her own husband, King Henry VIII) The second name, Bews is unfortunately something very personal to her and It would be wrong for me to reveal it.
Veronica Franco was the first name that popped into my head when I was advised to pick a pseudonym, although my real first and second name was originally what I had in mind as I have a beautiful name.
I recalled a history assignment that I did the research for in high school, but left the school before completion. I was intrigued when I came across the 16th century venetian poetess and courtesan by the name of Veronica Franco by chance in the school library, listed under 16th century art and literature. A few years later, I saw and fell in love with a movie called 'A destiny of her own/Dangerous Beauty' that rang a bell, but I never put the two together until the day I had to choose this name for my alter ego and discovered the beauty of Google,Lol. I read all I could find on her and decided I wanted to have her courage, passion and conviction if I was to go into this line of work, which had terrified me for weeks before. Taking her name gave me a new found sense of courage to do what was necessary with joy and fulfillment and not cry myself to sleep every night as so many ladies had told me they had done in the first few months of this industry.
