"No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."

- Nelson Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom.

I do think that by leaving the past behind us and realising we are human we can all learn to live in harmony. I agree Government is a major issue and they do want to blame everyone but themselves. What we all need to realise is that 2 wrongs don't make a right and as humans we all need the same things. We all need a place to live that is clean and safe. We all need work and education in order to provide and survive. By working together we can accomplish more than when we do it on our own. There are good and bad people in every race, religion and gender. That doesn't tell us to harm or mistreat each other. Whatever we are it is not for us to judge but rather just respect that persons opinion and move on.

The growth of racism in SA is by design and with malice filled intent. The ruling elite can only stay in power by creating and fueling hatred amongst the people of South Africa. Only when we wake up and realise we are being played, will we stand together and eradicate those who cause our misery and their organisations.

Objection your honor !!!

SA is already a first world country.
The infrastructure is there.
We have roads that rival Europe and the US, we have high speed internet similar to the EU mandated minimum speeds and it's getting better. We have high tech development. We have world class hospitals available (although not public). we have the manufacturing sectors.
We need to stop considering SA as some backwater, shit hole in the arse of Africa because I have been there to that place... and SA is a lot better on every level.
Other then the pound, the euro and really old buildings what has the EU got that SA doesn't ?... Security and effective Government... the 2 most important things to any "first world nation", without those nothing will ever be achieved.

For example, If the education ministry actually pulled its thumb out of it's arse it could actually achieve its mandate. same goes for most of the portfolios...

Everyone who posted on this thread, in my opinion, has made a useful contribution to this debate.

I particularly like what Alpine01 and deamonza have said and I really hope that the ruling party takes notice. South Africa has the potential to be great.

Anyway, my contribution is to provide a little humour. I don't know if all of you will find it funny too.

An American man walked into a restaurant in London. As soon as he entered, he noticed an African man sitting in the corner. So he walked over to the counter, removed his wallet and shouted, "Waiter! I am buying food for everyone in this restaurant, except that black African guy over there!"
So the waiter collected the money from the man and began serving free food to everyone in the restaurant, except the African.
However, instead of becoming upset, the African simply looked up at the American and shouted, "Thank you!" That infuriated the man. So once again, the American took out his wallet and shouted, "Waiter! This time I am buying bottles of wine and additional food for everyone in this bar, except for that African sitting in the corner over there!" So the waiter collected the money from the man and began serving free food and wine to everyone in the bar except the African. When the waiter finished serving the food and drinks, once again, instead of becoming angry, the African simply smiled at the American man and shouted, "Thank you!" That made the American man furious. So he leaned over on the counter and said to the waiter, "What is wrong with that African man? I have bought food and drinks for everyone in this bar except him, but instead of becoming angry, he just sits there and smiles at me and shouts 'Thank you.' Is he mad???" The waiter smiled at the American and said, "No, he is not mad. He is the owner of this
restaurant.

This country is going to the dogs.

This is my esteemed opinion after years of study and business experience.

In my field of operation, it has become impossible to operate without paying bribes or changing my name and company to Mafutu Enterprises...

Never learned about that at Varsity...
