think about it. Stats SA claims one in every 5 south africans are hiv positive. so does this mean every 5th client a wg sees has hiv or a std?

That's an absurd notion when you're talking about the escort industry.

Where prostitution is legal and confined to controlled brothels, HIV tests are mandatory and happen every two weeks or so.

I received a call from a lady saying she is from an organization that is testing WGs for HIV and giving them tablets to prevent them from contracting HIV from clients or infecting clients. I then asked where this lady got my numbers she said on my add. I refused the offer not because I have the disease (I know my status) but for a few reason:

1. It could have been the police trying to arrest me.
2. I am not naive enough to be walking around not knowing my status.
3. It could have been one of my regulars wives.
4. Being a WG dsnt mean I am automatically careless, going around sleeping with people with no condoms. I live a normal life too just like other non working girls so I am also scared of dying.

My conclusion on these stats therefore is that they are rubbish. Which WGs were tested or did they just label the ones who refused to come in for testing as HIV positive. That is if the lady that called me was really part of the team that ran the WGs and HIV survey.

Stats in SA are unreliable in my opinion. Nothing in this country is done properly and while I can imagine that the stats are high, I wouldn't count on anything these idiots state!

i may be wrong here but weren't you accused of being hiv postive?

stats are collected on a willingness bases. those that agree to be tested gets tested. those that decline to get tested isn't in the stats.

the stats tend to get it wrong if it only done in a particular area and it is assumed this is the national rate. thats why they test people from many areas to calculate the national rate.

think of it in this way: donald trump has to do elections in all the states. every state has a different % of people supporting him and a different % of people not supporting him. they can only calculate his national support rate after he had elections in all the states....stats the same.

the bulk of sa dont know their status despite testing and treatment being free at state hospitals.

believe it or not stats tend to be very accurate.

many wgs or streetgirls will have unprotected sex for an extra buck. the demand for such services is there; weather we like it or not.

YES!

Ask any of the ladies I have visited. I *always* show them a full STD panel test and HIV status test when I visit. Not because I want unprotected sex (excepting OWO) but to set a tone of peace of mind that should anything happen to the condom on the very rare occasion I indulge in FH, that she doesn't need to panic - at least not quite as much. Anyone prudent would still go for a course of emergency ARV's if that did happen but still, I think it shows respect for the lady and her safety, as well as showing that I take my own sexual health seriously.

I just reminded myself I need to go get new tests done. I highly encourage every punter to do the same, especially ones that have wives / girlfriends with whom they have unprotected sex. Almost all medical aids (or should that be medical AIDS - heh) will pay for the tests in full. It's just the smart thing to do. Use the big head before whipping out the little one.
