I really do not want to create a race discussion with this post.

However, it amuses me that all the darker skinned ladies that I have visited are much darker skinned in the flesh than on their photos. Do the photographers really think that they will get more clients if they look lighter. It makes no difference at all to me.
But it reminds me of a song from the sixties that went
Tell me tell me tell me why
I want to know the fact
That all the black people want to go white
and the shite people want to go black

Dear Sir

You note that it's not an issue for you while the very mention of your concern clearly qualifies that you DO have an issue with race.

Our brief to our photographers is to make all ladies who list with us look as true to life as possible. True to life in many instances could be negative for the lady in question but we would like to avoid that the lady looks better in the pictures than in person. We don't support or encourage any embellishment by the ladies or the photographers.

To this end we have a field in the review section which qualifies, "does the lady look like her pictures" if we get too many 'No's" it is something we look into.

Race is likely the most contentious issue in South Africa, it is clear that there are many parties to whom, race is of issue, that is however on them as individuals and many who see race will not likely change in the near future if at all.

If you as a punter have race concerns, relating to the lady you wish to see, pick up the phone and ask the advertiser direct what race she is.

Good day to you Sir

Am I the only one that looks at just looks at features?

The curve of a waist, the slope of a nose, the fullness of a breast, the glow of a complexion, the style of her hair, the fullness of her lips, her height, her smile, her... well you get the idea.

I saw a lady of statuesque proportions the other day. Just a woman, no makeup, hair a bit of a mess, jeans and a t-shirt, packing Checkers bags in to a not terribly high-end car. My word she was gorgeous. It doesn't matter "what" she was. Dark, fair, mid-tone etc, she was just gorgeous.

@ markymarky, In answer to your question regarding the photographers potentially making the lady's skin tones lighter, technically it is actually very difficult to match a colour tone to reality. Firstly, because reality is quite subjective when it comes to colour. You see tan and I see brown. Then there is light, the texture of skin, film type, screen resolution, the lens type, the distance etc etc ad infinitum ad nauseum.

Go to the Pantone website and try to find a "skin" tone. The first thing that comes up is grey, elephant skin. A human skin tone, indeed most colours, are far too dependent on any number of variables when photographed.

I speak for myself,i moved from pta to jhb which means a new photographer so finding the right skin tone it's a bit difficult hehehe sometimes I'm lighter in my photos, sometimes we get it right and sometimes the light works against us.Some clients think I'm colored cause my hair.lol

Like Miss lalaa said i speak 6 different languages,i can't list them all,i listed my mother tongue.

My color depends on the session and the lighting, winter I'm very fair but in summer in golden brown as I love the beach and I tan very fast.
I often get asked what race I am.

@lalla
was not distracting from clever. the conversation part was added as clever alone is no guarantee of good conversation.

My grandfather once told me that while beauty is only skin-deep, ugly goes all the way to the bone.
