It's sad to think that we call these people friends friends do not do such things I hope oneday her name will come out so people can stay away.

Let him courier the passport overnight from Postnet, might be R300 or so but will save you a lot of hassle.

Thats a sad incident. It hurts more because you know the person and the element of trust is involved.

If the person is a member on ESA, pls report to the admins of the site. Police complaint is definitely an option and should be exercised.

Home affairs can be a pain, but if needs to be done, sadly, it will need to be done. Just report to the nearest police station of the missing id . If ts lost in Capetown, as far as I know, it must be reported in Capetown. Then you can have the duplicate issued in Jhb.
