This is not an offer for prostitution. All fees are exchanged for time and companionship only. No fees of any kind will be quoted, negotiated, or collected in exchange for any sexual conduct. Anything else that may occur is a matter of personal choice between two consenting adults of legal age, and is not contracted for, nor is it requested to be contracted for, or compensated for in any manner.

Prostitution has for a while now been unofficially decriminalized. The law relating directly to this subject is the Sexual Offences Act 23 of 1957.
The authorities seem to ONLY act under these circumstances:
Illegal aliens working in the sex industry with out the necessary correct paperwork and work permits.
Under-age persons (This is a no brainier and quite obvious)
Liquor licence violations ( selling alcohol with out the nessesary licence, this is for some reason a seriously big deal, you can however be offered and accept a free drink or drinks)
Narcotics violations (Of all the girls that I know who have been arrested in the 7 years that this site has been operational it has been for this reason and not for prostitution at all)
Then finally, the last reason, the police must act and will act if the receive a direct complaint from a neighbour or neighbours. What they normally do is set up a key stone cops sting operation, with marked money which always works and that's how girls get taken down. I have never hered of a single instance were a client was ever arrested or fined by police.
Lots of stories of police soliciting bribes though and cutting people loose once bribes where piad, girl and clients. No surprises here !!!

Naughty Girl: The Act may have been first promulgated in 1957, but that doesn't mean its still the same wording as it was in 1957. In fact, it has changed a lot since them. The act was recently re-viited and revised, and I think that the current amendment is based in 2006 or 2007.
ESA Support: Thanks a lot for the info. Very informative. What worries me is your use of 'unofficially decriminalized'. I know exactly what you mean, but that doesn't mean that minds can't change quite rapidly, or for political expediency.
What I'm asking about though is whether it would be possible to argue a case to legalise prostitution in SA based on the fact that the line between paid sexual favours and paid non-sexual favours is so blurred that it doesn't really exist.

Hey Guys
It isn't criminal to visit a working girl for services in this country for the punter. The cops can only get you as a witness. If they do that to me I will say that she is my girlfriend and that I can give whatever kind of gift that I see fit.
Cheers
Garry

On the matter of 'unofficially decriminilized' - any good lawyer will tell you that until prostitution is legalised, you CAN still be prosecuted.
Rand Lover - the last amendment was in 2003.
Garry - it is criminal for the client to visit a prostitute.
This is an extract from the last ammendment to the act:
'Clause 11 provides that a person who unlawfully and intentionally and for reward, engages the services of a person older than 18 years for sexual purposes, is guilty of the offence of engaging the sexual services of a person 18 years or older. This clause targets the client of an adult prostitute. In the case of S v Jordan and Others, the Constitutional Court held that the law already criminalises a client if he or she engages the services of a prostitute. This clause therefore, not only confirms the existing law, but also addresses the unacceptable consequences of the selective application of the law, as pointed out by the Constitutional Court, whereby the clients are not arrested, charged and prosecuted for contraventions of this nature.'
And according to this bill, the fine is R6000.

So any politician who 'crosses the floor' should be arrested as as prostitute. They are after all 'fucking' the voters are they not.
Now all I have to do is find naked pictures of a minister you dont like, have a wank, and then get them arrested???
