And so to continue with the above post.

Rotator cuff injury
Frozen shoulder
Bicep tendinitis.

In severe cases, as mentioned on this thread, always best to visit your gp, physio or chiro to determine the root cause of your injury.

When it comes to tight muscles, tired muscles, maintenance of muscle wellness, understanding what your injury/pain may be, post care after operation or injury, then massage therapy, sport massage is highly recommended and beneficial.

Why the confusion as to the above 3 problems...because the pain emanating is located in an area common....and thus feedback from you, understanding the physicality of muscle engagement, quick movement fire tests do help identify the problem, rather than the pain.

As mentioned above...once the problem is localized then to help YOU help yourself.

The healing time period all depends which one of the 3 it may be and the severity .

Looking fwd to assisting you understand your personal mind and body wellness.

Once again to stress the importance of having acute physical disability or pain diagnosed by your gp, chiro, physio.

And then to look for continued physical care that fits in with your requirements.

To continue with the previous post and why the emphasis on correct diagnosis and how pain in the same area can be misdiagnosed and treatment applied be relieving for a short period of time, might be more harmful even, than assist with the healing process.

A difficult one.

Frozen shoulder.
Why?
How?

It is the inflammation of the tissue surrounding the shoulder joint , immobilising the shoulder.

What caused this inflammation. A route cause could be that one may be suffering from other ailments as well as not much use of shoulder in various activities .

Frozen shoulder can stay for months and months. Some easy steps can be taken to alleviate and deal with this sort of challenge , become part of ones routine leading to faster strengthening and recovery and use of ones arm.

Bicep tendinitis .

Continued from the above posts.

Again, one of those that could be misdiagnosed if not confimed by your physio or chiro.

The swelling and inflammation, stiffness, dull pain and grating sound are some of the symptoms experienced.

The tenderness felt in front of the shoulder can worsen with activities that require overhead lifting...a good sign that one might be suffering from Bicep tendinitis.

Postcare after diagnosis as we know, is important and that is where I get referred to and step in to assist with the healing.

Again understanding physicality, the impact of movement and certain exercises impacting the period of healing and understanding what not to do.

I do work extensively with body builders, incorporating acupuncture in our sessions too.

Looking fwd to assisting YOU with your mind and physical wellbeing.

Rainy days might mean indoor training.

Some mentions .

Why hot or cold application after a good workout / training session.

Cold after a solid game or training session helps reduce inflammation.

Heat improves blood circulation assisting in oxygen flow and as one knows oxygen is required to heal cells, helps with collagen regeneration and improves ones muscle and tissue wellness.

Once again to mention acupuncture as a remedy to assisting with improving blood circulation / boost of oxygen / detoxing.

In the same breath to mention stretching exercises before and after are a must in helping reduce the risk of injury.

Before - warm the muscles , preparing them for a workout.

After - cool and relax the muscle.

Two different sort of stretches in both cases

Before- what one calls dynamic stretches which involves movement to warm muscles.

After- what one calls static stretches involving holding a position for a few seconds without movement.

Thank you for the growing support and queries and looking fwd to many more.

Quoted from sleepdymanics.com

"...Do the same thing every night before bedtime, like take a warm bath, read or listen to music. Your pre-sleep activity should be relaxing so your body knows when it's time to go to sleep. Get regular exercise. Make sure you exercise at least two hours before bedtime though, or it may be difficult to fall asleep."

Please note:

I do not practice Reiki or pure Reflexology.

To explain why I say pure Reflexology.

Sport massage and therapy knows to involve work on trigger / pressure points too.
The focus is not solely on those points, as is the practice in Reflexology, which shall be addressed as part of the therapy if required.

Reflexology is solely about applying pressure to points on ears hands and feet.

An additive in my therapy session is cranial massaging that addresses neck pain, tension and affords relief to sufferers of severe headaches and migraines.

Once again to stress the importance of sharing any physical disabilities and medical ailments.

Looking fwd to your call and being of assistance.

"...What drink helps neck pain?

Drinking water throughout the day is important to your overall health, but muscles and disc's in your neck and back require a lot of water.
Spinal disc's are roughly 80% water at birth, and the ratio decreases theought our life.

Proper hydration may help reduce the risk of degeneration and help reduce neck pain."

Tip

" sleeping with your bottom arm under your pillow or your top leg stretched out can lead straight to shoulder and neck pain."

"...How do I get rid of a busy mind?

Activities like coloring books, knitting, scrapbooking, and pottery offer an escape for a busy mind. Simple, REPETITIVE ACTIONS, especially -- like kneading dough -- can help you redirect your thoughts and tune out the chatter in your head. Let your inner child play!

We talk about the importance of breathing "properly".

Of course we know we have to breath to stay alive, but why do I concentrate on teaching breathing techniques?

Because our bodies require oxygen for cell regeneration, collagen production, production of energy required for our physical form to function at best, including using it as a method to reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.

Here is an explanation of how the diaphragm and lungs interact.

That thing I talk about physiology ... the interaction of our anatomy as a whole and, how it affects us as a "whole" too.

Quoted from nhibi.nih.gov

"...When you breath in or inhale, your diaphragm contracts and moves downwards. This increases the space in your chest cavity, and your lungs expand into it.
The muscles between your ribs also help to enlarge the chest cavity. They contract to pull your ribcage both upward and outward when you inhale."

Many who have been to my wellness session will have noticed I do pay attention to the ribcage plus focus on deep breathing as opposed to the quick shallow breathes we are prone to take.

Looking fwd to being your personal therapist.

Fascia- the connective tissue network in the body. It provides shape and support and surrounds every part of your body.

We have heard about hyaluronic acid....that is the liquid that is found between the layers of fascia and when healthy the fascia is slippery and smooth....allowing for unrestricted movement.

Should the liquid dry up the fascia siezes up, making movement difficult.

Some of the causes of fascia could be a lifestyle lacking enough physical movement, overuse of the same part of your body or injury causing damage to the body.

Massaging the fascia , releasing tension restores natural mobility enhancing flexibility and improving overall body function.

Another non intrusive, non invasive method of dealing with fascia pain is acupuncture.

Combining the two, as well as remedies that are easy to follow at home are a sure way to assisting yourself to addressing niggles and debilitating movement.

Starting with gentle stretches and good posture when sitting or standing is a start.

Looking fwd to assisting keeping your fascia healthy.
