I 100% disagree with your statement of "you get what you pay for".
It has been said on many occasions, here on this very forum that "Price is not an indication of quality".
And to that I can vouch from personal experience, my best experiences were with those in middle to lower price bracket, and my worse ever was those I have ever paid the most for.
