Also remember the figures given only apply to female to male transmission.
The male to female transmission is considerably higher.
The vaginal tract is more likely to have micro tears compared to the penis.
Also sexual secretions are in contact with the vaginal surface much longer that on the penis.
Always be safe ladies.
Pre cum can also be loaded with active virus, so OWO can pose a much higher risk to the female than the male, as the oral cavity is more likely to have minor injuries compared to the penis

I wanted to post about this about a year back but my boss warned me off, saying it's not worth the backlash and people don't like to be lectured. Fair enough, coming from me I guess.

I offered FH and OWO in the first eight months of my career here, before I was too savvy about the risks. Never again. I got my full panel of tests done, clean and free, and plan to keep it that way for the rest of my life.

Some things just aren't worth the risk. I may see fewer clients because of my restrictions, but I sleep very well at night, and for the most part my type of clients actually appreciate that I don't take risks. I do my best to ignore clients who get snippy with me when I say No to whatever unsafe practice they try to bully out of me. Dude, I'm not going to risk my long-term health just to make you happy for one moment. Threaten a bad review. Whatever. I'm not going to do it.

A risk is a risk however low. Never mind that I would kill myself if I transferred anything to a man in my personal life, who actually cares for and trusts me.

I'm amazed at how blas people are about this. Play safe or just don't play.

I read somewhere that the government clinics are distributing free HIV prevention meds to sex workers who are at risk. It's apparently 96% effective. Not sure how this will work though since our HIV funding from the US is being cut!

This is a bad idea.
It gives the false illusion that you're safe, when it only protects against HIV.
Other STI's can be equally serious

I agree Rodeo...but for those of us that have experienced or will experience condom breaks, clients removing condoms or rape etc, it can be an extra safeguard. There is of coarse a chance that we could still be infected or catch something else, but extra precautions can't hurt or at least increase the chances of us not contracting it!

It should not however be used for a license to sell bareback!
