Iv always said,HIV doesn't kill people,rather the stigma surrounding HIV is the real killer.
Remember when HIV was first discovered it was associated with gay men (GRID) and that made it a "dirty" disease. The fact that most infections are through sex,it make the infected person seem loose or promiscuous.
That type of stigma is dangerous and the best way to handle it is to get educated on it

I read somewhere that the government clinics are distributing free HIV prevention meds to sex workers who are at risk. It's apparently 96% effective. Not sure how this will work though since our HIV funding from the US is being cut!

I agree Rodeo...but for those of us that have experienced or will experience condom breaks, clients removing condoms or rape etc, it can be an extra safeguard. There is of coarse a chance that we could still be infected or catch something else, but extra precautions can't hurt or at least increase the chances of us not contracting it!
It should not however be used for a license to sell bareback!
