You cannot generalise and say that some do and some lecture. That is simplistic and unrealistic.
How nice is it not to have all of the academic knowledge and being able to not only implement it but also understanding the bigger picture and the reasoning behind it ? The laws of physics and economics and history and everything else ?
My advice ? Start reading.

If you have lots of intelligence, or money or whatever you have in surplus supply, do good with it. Don't look down on others...
In any case, you may often to your surprise find that the one you are looking down on, may actually be more gifted. (S)he may just be more modest...

Why would you assume I don't read? I enjoy autobiographies, sporting books and of course Wilbur Smith, I read five newspapers a day and the job I do forces me too read read and read so more.
