The nice thing about golf is that you have variables in the amount of time that can be explained:
- A quick hour or two at the driving range
- A 9 hole game that will take anything from 3 hours onwards
- A full 18 hole game that can take anything from 5 hours onwards
- The various club functions, competition days, prize givings etc

Handymen get called anytime and they need to buy specialised spares

Similarities abound, as we men just have to get " it" in the hole.

Tell her that you are now in charge of the alarm at the office. Just get the WG to phone you at 10pm and then tell the missus that it is that darn unreliable alarm that has just gone off again

If golf is the cover, remember to take sun tan oil, big hat and shoes. Hitting 20 balls at the practise tee will only take 20 minutes, and the cover can last up to 5 hours!

Have to "play gholf" this coming week, my nuts are killing me ;)

I need to start playing golf so that this excuse can come in handy!! Had no idea I could spend 5 hours away.
