I fell into this trap last month too. Helped an ex-mg (in a normal job now) with rent. Made it really affordable for her to repay, come month end she tells me how after repaying me and rent she and her kids can't eat and will die! Lol, literally. The mere R500pm that you committed to paying back is the difference between life and death now after you initially offered to pay back more?! Writing it off as school fees.

Happens all the time boss:

www.esa.co.za/forum/thread.php

I've also learned that even the most beautiful WG around will pull these stunts. Apart from the gal in the above thread yet another stunning chick called me with some sad story about ex not paying maintenance, no place to stay etc.

I keep to the sage advice of offering to come for a 2hr booking at her rate plus a little extra depending.

If a wg tries to sidestep the booking offer and only want quick moola then I immediately know its some bullshit trying to get moola for drugs or for asshole boyfriends.

Reading these threads I think the message is clear, the bulk of girls in this industry can't be trusted. I think it stems from a combination of factors one being that a lot of girls in the industry are damaged goods, a lot have psychological issues which includes issues around trust, honesty and men, which is just compounded by being in an industry where they often see the seedy or dark hidden side of society.

The above is not a generalisation as I have no doubt there are some honest girls, however the one begging you for money is likely not one of them.

Everybody gets whacked. Its a deep born in trait for every WG. You give a finger - you gonna loose your hand.

Unfortunately it is not just WG's. Many girls in 'normal' life do exactly same. They twist your arm & play on emotions - especially if they have kids - have been there a few times. Learnt to say NO , although it was tough. But they were not my responsibility.

It's a pet peeve of mine Arhwen and you did it twice in this thread so far. You borrow money FROM someone. You LEND money TO someone. So that would be "Why lend money to ladies ...."

I'll stop channeling uncle Ben now :P

@Superlink80, that is very harsh. The kids are the innocent parties in these situations. I always say they didn't ask to be here, but by other people's actions they are, yet those people don't take accountability. No child should have a childhood that they should recover from. I have no sympathy for the deadbeat parents, but the kids are a different story.
