I have done my fair share of both.
I had a work mate that lived in another part of SA to me. When we came to JHB for meetings we would always hire one car and travel together. We would start at Rock Paradise, then go to some other dodgy club also in Pamona Road.
We would end up in town at the Summit club then to our hotel in Sandton.
Overseas punts were the best :) we punted together in Barcelona, England, Australia and Chicago. It was always great to have a "Wing Man"

There used to be a knock shop in Hyde Park that we always used to go to, a big house with an outside area on William Nicol Drive (I wish I could remember the name) There was a really well stocked bar and we would always go there. Most of the time it was single shots but we would also book the Jacuzzi and do doubles in there.
I have to say that was some of my best punting times. We would often get there at 4pm and leave at closing. If a place like that opened up in the North of JHB - I would be a shareholder! We have since both left the company and now I choose to punt alone. I know some of my mates are punters and one even mentioned a story here on the forum that enabled me to identify him. I have too much invested in my business in JHB now and done enough off shore drilling to know to try and keep it quiet.

Tried it once. Went with someone I know. It was a terrible idea. Now we both think it was our experiment gone wrong and don't ever discuss it.

I haven't so far and haven't had problems although I mostly punt alone. Its an individual thing and too many factors to decide a funny one I've even punted with some lesbian or gay friends but that was while tipsy when i'm way more loose and accepting than normal.

I once went to a club and spotted a friend, and not being overly shy I went over to chat. It wasn't weird at all to see each other there so we had a few drinks, nothing wrong with.
