Something to ponder and that i address with those whose personal therapist I am.

"Most of the time your fatigue and headaches are because you are dehydrated.

This does not mean drink more water.

It means more salt, electrolytes and water

Dehydration = lack of

-salt
-magnesium
-potassium
-water."

Get your electrolytes in order and notice the change.

One of the pillars I touch on in my therapy, usually to remind those I work for and with, is mindset.

A word that gets bandied around without understanding or grasping the truth and strength behind it.

Part of it is about self realistion, but it goes far beyond the self.
It includes social emotional interaction and mindfulness not only toward the self BUT community too.

In sport teamwork being the success to one's performance...even in "singular " sports such as tennis and golf were it not for ones trainers and therapist and caddies and even the support of family...success is a goal much harder, if ever, possible to attain.

As I always say...

A healthy body is a healthy mind

and

A healthy mind is a healthy body.

I call int Mind and Body Contouring

And thus to quote from...

www.bgsu.edu
www.otepotiintegravitehealth

" ....regularly reflecting upon what's happening within ourselves, allowing us to still our thoughts and approach our work and relationships with a clear and capable disposition..."

" Mind- Body wellness refers to the integration of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Each aspect of our lives affects the other. "

One can recognise it as the "X" factor in sports and even among our peers and family members.

All of the above in reference to the Psychology of sport....and does transcend into our daily living.

To always emphasise the importance of healthy strong glute ( buttock / bum ) muscles .

It consists of a few muscles and is the biggest and strongest muscle in our body.

Weak glute muscles can lead to hip issues, lower back issue, lower leg issues.

When there is an imbalance of the lower body so the posture suffers, in use of muscles an imbalance leading to possible discomfort and sciatic issues.

I call the glute muscle the seat of the sciatic nerve and when looking to assist with sciatic issues it is NOT a one solution fix all.

In some cases hamstring stretches and corestrengthening exercise could worsen the sciatica.

Let us work on strengthening your glute, understanding the impact on your core strength and ripple effect on your posture.

Let's talk about posture.

Muscles, ligaments and tendons all interacting and working together be it in movement or inactivity.

Posture shows how your spine is aligned to your head shoulders and hips.

Non-alignment causes headaches, neck pains, muscle and joint pain and back pain.

And thus in my sessions to address the strengthening and release of muscles in the upper back and chest and teaching to engage one's core .
Change of daily bad habits also helps address posture issues.

Learning to help oneself leading to less niggles and numbing aches and pains.

Remember...sit up straight, drop those shoulders, no jutting of chin or constant looking down at your mobile.

Movement.

We place no thought on movement, not realizing the importance it plays in endorphin release and stress relief.

Movement means strengthening of ones muscles and flexibility.

One talks about exercise and exercise does not have to mean excessive gyming. Various forms of exercise / movement also has a huge impact on ones mental health by reducing stress and improving sleep. Sleep being imperative for healing and regeneration and cognitive functions.

What sort of "movement " suits you and how can it better your wellbeing and lifestyle.

Let's talk about it.

Mindset.

It influences how we think , feel , act and react.

Quoted- " it influences, resilience and achievement"

Is one a critical thinker, a solution finder?

Does one understand the value of self and how it impacts on one's success or failures and how one may relate to the world around one.

A fact...desensitization of emotions toward self and those around one does lead to burnout, cravings, discontent, unfulfillment, need for recognition...that chase for "something".

Priorities and boundaries need to be set and not according to the fickleness of an ever changing society, but recognizing the work that is required by the self to make what one wants a reality.

What drives YOU?

We hear very often the terms pressure point / trigger point.

As an acupuncture practitioner I also refer to acupressure points.

Why trigger point? Because that is where the pain is triggered.

Why pressure point? Because that refers to the pressure placed in the relevant area to assist with healing.

Combining deep tissue massage , applying pressure on the trigger point does help improve blood circulation and relieve chronic tension.

Before applying the required pressure to target the connective tissue and deeper layers of muscle, first to loosen and warm the muscles up with a gentler rub to the affected area.

Deep tissue massaging treats musculoskeletal issues, part of sport massaging when dealing with sports injuries or tension and strains.

Why aim for musculoskeletal health?....because otherwise ones day to day activities can be impaired even affecting one's emotional wellbeing.

How can I help you?

We talk about engaging ones core without giving it real deep thought as to why.

Your core muscles
Quoted:
"Muscles in your abdomen, back, pelvis and hips that support your trunk and pelvis"

Abdomen = your middle part where you find your internal organs and reproductive system.

Pelvis = " the bones between the lower part of your abdomen and upper thighs that connect the spine to the legs"

Trunk= another word is torso....that part of the body where everything is connected eg. Ones arms and legs and head.

And thus one begins to understand the negative physical effects when ones core is not strengthened and engaged.

It affects ones WHOLE physical form and would know to impede on ones mental wellbeing too.

An example for you to consider...

When doing physical work where strength is required or, an action having to move or pick up items....so you rely on your upper body strength or do you engage your "core"?

Let's work on enhancing your core strength, engaging your core through changing a few bad habits and watch that back pain, posture, movement take on a feeling of relief and improved movement.
