Was about to type a thesis in response, but was reminded that you just wouldn't get it, so why bother? Where as I first hesitantly asked the question if the word "RESPECT" is the correct word to use here on the forum, I am now again posing that question.

What is the meaning of the word respect ? It is the deep admiration that you feel towards another for their abilities and/or achievements.

I am also of the opinion that respect is earned, which is in line with the definition. To demand respect is simply ludicrous. You have to earn it.

To simply be a contributor on this site and respect others as you expect them to respect you ? Not gonna happen.

But if your achievements and abilities are such that others deem it fit to admire it, then by all means use the term respect.

But earn it. Don't just expect it.

It is like everything else in life. Respect is not so easy to come to.

On that note I just have to mention that I suddenly got a lot of RESPECT for my afternoon tryst. Her ABILITY to make me cum in record time was an ACHIEVEMENT of note. So guys and girls, that would be the correct use of the word : RESPECT.

@pieterd002, we can even treat total strangers with respect, it's common decency. Someone does not have earned your respect for you to show. You may not respect them as a person, but you can respect their right to privacy, their right to not have their body violated etc. The context in which "respect is earned" is used is different and not applicable here. Your example of the lady's ability to make you cum in record time is applicable, she displayed a skill and earned your respect for that. Prior to that you didn't know she was that great and only afterwards she "earned" your respect in that regard. But nothing prevented you from respecting her as a human being or her right to dignity prior to her displaying such skill. It's two different things, the one doesn't need to be earned.

Sad to see some ladies have to stoop to such a low level just for a little attention. It actually just shows you that there are still people who think they have to bring people down so that they can feel better about themselves. You are an amazing woman Sharon. Anyone who cannot respect you or your time or body does not deserve your time and effort you put in to make every client feel like royalty.

Thanks for responding and I have to concede to your reasoning that there are more than one use for the word respect.

But in the context of this site and the use and abuse of the term respect I am standing by my belief that it is not the correct use of the word here.

Going back to my tryst, I did not respect her as such, as you rightly commented, but I did treat her decently, like keeping her abreast of my delayed time of arrival, accepting the fact that she had to leave at a certain time, knowing full well that I was rushing to a tryst that might be disastrous in jamming it into the allocated time, and being really greatful and pleasantly surprised when meeting her standing smiling at the door at my unceremonious exit out of my car as I rushed to save a few precious seconds.

The respect part came afterwards when she literally and magically and wonderfully got me going at the speed of light. It was an amazing experience, one that I am not use to, as this engine usually needs some tender love and attention before it pumps out that V8 power,and one which I respected as such. And for which I shall return post haste for a much longer session.

So I am going with your comment that it is common decency to treat people cordially and friendly.

Respect must not be confused with the day to day civilities which we exchange with total strangers in our business and social lives.
